Default Murphy Beds

Who out there has had a Murphy Bed installed? Has it met your expectations? Any problems? Are they as practical as they look? Where is the best deal?

Great question. I just moved into a house with a murphy bed... Slept on it one night, prior to our furniture arriving.. It was a good mattress.. The only thing I didn't like , is there is a gap from the top of the mattress to the wall behind it & the pillows had a tendency to fall behind the bed.. Any hints on how to remedy that problem would be appreciated.

Some beds have a piece that fold down like a headboard and it prevents the pillows from falling thru. I just bought a new credenza bed at the wall bed store, it looks like a large cabinet and unfolds into a queen size bed. We also have murphy beds at our condo and one of the beds is a library bed, so when the doors are closed it looks like bookshelves.

We had a murphy bed and built in desk put in our den by Abshier in LSL right across the street from Thai Ruby. They did a great job and I highly recommend them. There is another Murphy bed store on 466, right next to Son Rise Cafe. I don't know anything about them, but you could use them as a comparison to Abshier.

We LIKED the idea that the pillows fell down the back of the Murphy Beds.
That way people would only stay a Day or Two at the FAMILY fishin shack.

However when FAMILY is down there......we all use "baby bumpers."
Keeps the baby "youngbloods" on the big people mattresses.
.........they also work great to keep pillows at the top of Murphy Beds..
..remove the dang thing B4 standing the bed, been there done that.
....... They are about 21 bucks in any store with a baby dept.
HINT...Do not let NON-family use the Murphys with the Sleep Number
mattresses, they will stay WAY too long.

DEon't let non family know you have a Murphy bed just blow up the air mattress for them. They will be gone in 3 days.

right!

I just purchased a custom murphy bed design from http://www.murphybedlifestyles.com . My daughter uses it mostly when she comes home from College but I can confidently say that it was a great purchse.
