I believe I read that blades should be removed but I can’t find that page now.

Why do people insist on making claims without looking them up first, do they really think no one will check? Proof by emphatic assertion rarely works. I’m sure the blades could be taken off with the 3 or so screws on each one blade and it would fit inside a regular large trash bag? EDIT: If it still works post it on your community FB site (curb alert) as we have people frequently do this and normally they are taken even the standard original white ones.

I don’t know if that’s required, but I’ve installed several fans since moving here, and I’ve always unscrewed the blades and taped them together before putting it all in the trash. That also makes it easier to get the fan out the door.

They will take anything that will fit if it is not too heavy… no large appliances

There is a charge for large items pickup and they will NOT take glass (unframed mirrors or exterior window/door)....you can take to the dump on Moyer Loop (fascinating site to see!)
