Default Dead River Mt. Dora Canal Cruises

We've got family visiting next week. Does anyone have any recent "personal" experience with cruises on the Dead River or any of the big lakes in this area, i.e. Mt. Dora? When you search TOTV, there are some suggestions but they're dated (2009) and too general to be of value. There used to be one next to JJ Finns which is now Hurricanes but I would think there would be several to choose from.

Yes, I took a river cruise and it was serene, beautiful and Erika did a wonderful job giving us a private tour on her pontoon. Here is the site: A Cruising Down The River

Sounds like a nice experience. Thanks Tweety Bird.

I know it's not the Dead River but has anyone done the Withlacoochee river cruise with Captain Mike from Stumpknockers restaurant on Hwy 200 in Dunnellon?

Yes, we've done Captain Mike's Withlacoochee River cruise, and thoroughly enjoyed it! You want to take the cruise that finishes just before dinnertime, so you can enjoy dinner at the restaurant afterward. After the cruise we decided to stay for dinner, althought the restaurant looked deserted. As soon as we started our drinks on the patio there was line of people waiting to be seated for dinner. They fill up quickly!
