I know that such things happen. Unfortunately, I am not savvy enough to know what constitutes a “good price.”

Thanks for the many responses!!

They also have postings on Facebook of their merchandise. It changes frequently.
I would recommend spending some time at the Baptist Thrift store in Leesburg. Store is full of furniture , beds etc.

Suggested only… FB marketplace for non porous items & store bought new for upholstered items ie: bedding & fabric covered chairs etc.

Kent furniture in Belleview, Badcock in Wildwood ( not the one in Fruitland Park), Babettes in Leesburg ( there are several stores in that area of 441). DO NOT go to City furniture. Also, check estate sales in the Daily Sun.

We have a reclining sofa, loveseat, king mattress with base frame, and a few other items. All in almost new condition. Moved in with fiancé and consolidating. All in Clermont though

Wink Agree with Estate Sales

Look at the lestings on EstateSales.net. You can get some great deals on furniture and fittings by joing the "thrill of the hunt" seekers at these sales. It takes some time and committment, but if you're not in a hurry to fill the house, it's a fabulous way to meet folks, get decorating ideas and find great bargains! Welcome to the neighborhood.

One commenter suggested newly purchased upholstered items & mattresses & I agree. I was recently in one of the used stores frequently suggested in this thread & in the area of couches & upholstered chairs there was a definite musty smell. Now it is likely only a few of the items had the problem & were spreading the smell throughout the room, but I would be reluctant to choose one, in case I got one of the stinkers. (Also, they do not accept any returns). Perhaps someone with a better nose than me can detect the offenders, but I would not trust myself to realize it until it was too late.

Almost Perfect Furniture has extremely high prices on used furniture. I've been three times and left disgusted each time. Didn't expect a bargain, but also didn't expect sticker shock.

Is there a high-quality outlet store for furniture or second hand shop with good stuff?

Thanks for any recommendations.
I/we agree with Almost Perfect located on southbound side of 441 just north of 42 and 441 intersection. They have a large inventory and turn things over frequently (sell a lot). They buy up high quality furniture, framed pictures, etc., from estate sales so you are able to often find matched sets e.g. bedroom sets, tables with matching chairs, etc. They also seem to have a constant supply of leather recliners. We found them to be a bit pricey but they are willing to negotiate when buying sets, combinations of things. They know what they paid for things and are willing to come down a bit from their list prices. We bought A LOT of very nice furniture, chairs, pictures from them over a period of several months. They also can let you know if/when they get certain items in if you are are looking for specific things. Great place.

Default Furniture Stores

Anyone know of a place that will take away 8 year old furniture that is in good shape and not charge us anything? We will be buying new family room furniture fairly soon and want to give away the old stuff.
