Default Airline tickets

Wife and I got tickets to fly Southwest from NY to Orlando. $74 each way. great price! Problem is- our cat cost $75 and he doesn't get a seat. What is wrong with this picture? Perhaps I can dress him up as small child and allow him his own seat.

Holy moley! Sounds like a great price for the tickets.........except for the kitty. If you could teach him not to meow, maybe you could disguise his carrier as a carry-on bag............ Yep, something rotten in Denmark with their pricing structure!

Just printed out the itinerary. Last week in April heading down. $74 direct flight Rochester to Orlando. Still referred to as Airtran here even though Southwest brought em.

As a member of a group who use supplemental oxygen, that extra $75 for the cat looks puny!

While the situation is improving, slowly, it has been common for folks to buy an airline ticket for, say, $100 each way, even with a change somewhere along the way.

Getting oxygen service from most airlines was up to $100 per segment. That translates to $400 on a round-trip ticket. Under the foregoing scenario:

Person = $200 roundtrip
Oxygen = $400 roundtrip

and, the cat or even the oxygen equipment would take up so much less room than the human! Ah, well, it revolves around a government program, so you and I both know that there'll be something majorly wrong!

all the other airlines charge $100 each way for your pet (have paid it many a time for my dog) ... so look at it this way....Tom, you still got a bargain.

I have no issue with the $75. It's just weird that people are flying for less. I'm also sure the $74 price will not remain. The lowest price I paid was $89. I just hope, Treaver (the cat) will behave on the flight. He can be very vocal and if he gets into one of his yodeling moods, the people on the flight will be annoyed. Veterinarian says she can give him some stuff to relax him.
