Hi
My Wife and I scheduled a Lifestyle stay first week of October. We also have two other couples booking the same week. We first heard that Love Bug Season was late August, early September. Now we seen that last year they where their late September. Is it to close to take a chance? Any suggestions? Thanks |

I personally recommend that you accept lovebugs. If you end up living here, you'll be stuck with them. They'll probably be gone before you get here; they only stick around a few days before they all die anyway.

Not a big deal. Certainly don't plan trips around 'em. Just annoying for a bit. October is a great time to visit.

Love bugs are annoying when they splat on headlights and windshields, but other than that they are not a big deal.
They should NOT be confused with the ones in S. America that can bite and the bites can be fatal. There are hundreds of kinds of love bugs, ours in Central Florida are harmless. |

Yeah, they can stick around for a week or more. There can be a lot, just a few or something in between. You're just as well off experiencing them as not. That way you'll know whether or not they bug you enough not to live here. Personally, like others, I am not really bothered by them. If you sit on them or somehow squash them on your clothes they stain.

This spring there was virtually no love bugs at all, hopefully the fall season will be just as good....come when you want, they don't eat much....

they were few compared to some seasons, but zero? Nope. Not even close. (oh and it's "were virtually"not "was" as bugs are plural)

I visited TV for the first time in April and May and just saw a few. Everyone told me there wasn't as many this spring.

Usually they are bad in May. This year they were almost non existent. Have never seen them in October.
