Default Wine Store

Weather permitting, we're flying in to MCO next week on Thursday to close on our home on Friday. Is there a good wine store between the airport and TV?

Recommendations for Orlando or TV.

Thanks.

(and BTW, we're really excited)

I have not been there, but Lakeridge Winery in Clermont may be worth a visit. Maybe another poster who has been there can post more information.

ABC Store between Home Depot and Sam's Club on 441/27 has a very good wine selection.

Since you are going to be a Villager, why not buy wine from the wine store in Lake Sumter Landing. It's called Gar Vino's.

The best selection of wines at cheapest prices we've found is Total Wine and More, in Orlando. There are 2 locations - we happen to go to the one near Millenia Mall. You can google the store locations. The store is huge, and has a fantastic selection of wines at every price range. Sometime there are coupons in the paper. We get coupons via email. Its definitely worth stopping at if you're a wine lover. Of course they offer discounts if u buy cases, etc.

GarVino's has a very nice selection and I always encourage people to support the local stores.

I agree on Total Wine. The selection is HUGE and they have all kinds of wine in the store. There are two in Orlando. 2712 East Colonial Drive
Colonial Plaza, Orlando, FL 32803 and 4625 Millenia Plaza Way, Millenia Plaza
Orlando, FL 32839.

Do not bother with Lakeridge Winery. It is pretty much undrinkable.

GarVino's in The Villages at Lake Sumter Landing is very tiny and has a very small selection of wine. Their weekend entertainment is usually excellent, though.

GarVino at LSL and help the local store. Though they may not have the largest selection, their selection is good enough for most wine drinkers. More traffic and I can ask them to stock more unusual wines. Need to keep that store in business for convenience sake.

I agree with buying a bottle of wine at a local store, however there are several on this site that their private stock would be 9 times over what a small shop has, when we buy wine it is buy the case and usually from the vineyard, or a shop that has stock in anything you would need on hand

GarVino's does have great entertainment. We stop there every couple of weeks or so.

Cannot beat their selection or prices. I don't make a special trip but we plan to stop when we are Orlando. 2000 beers, 8000 wines. A toy store for adults!

I also think that Garvino's will have an excellent array of wines to choose from and I also agree that servicing our local stores will help them stay in business. At the same time, you can pick up a delicious cigar,,, I love the smell of cigars... and they have quite an assortment.

And, I also agree, the weekend entertainment is very good there. I go there on Wed nights for Karaoke, some of the best singers in the villages are there and its really crowded.
