Kwikset makes a nice product.

There are lots of choices out there that you can research online. If you have an alarm system like SimpliSafe they have a door lock that communicates with the alarm and gives you all the information you are looking for.

OP, when you decide to go this route, turn off the SSID on your WI-FI and consider changing your password to something very strong, you do not want some being able to crack your WI-FI and get access to your house.

I have the Ultraloq U-Bolt wifi lock. Have been very happy with it. We've had it about 6 years and it just stopped working, have to figure out what's wrong with it. With the app you can lock or unlocked it from anywhere you have internet, it also works with your finger print to unlock, although that can be finicky at times. Also opens with a code you can put in. You can also activate and deactivate anyone you put in at any time from your phone. Overall have been very happy with it, if I can't get it working again will probably replace with the same lock. Also bought one for my daughter a couple years ago and she really likes it. It also works with a key if the electronics stops working like mine.

We just installed a schlage wireless lock. and VT makes some very good points about wireless router settings.
Wasn't hard other than the door frame and deadbolt didn't align at all, as we put in a new door at the same time,
MA house. pleased as you enter the code and it automatically unlocks, no extra buttons to push

my big thing is, I want it to push a notification to me when the lock is activated by a code that I have given someone so that I can track who comes and goes,

I've used Schlage Encode smart wi-fi locks. Worked great. Using the app, you can setup alerts, view history, and add or delete additional codes anytime. All over the internet.

Kwikset makes a very nice lock. You can add different codes for different people. You can turn on the codes or turn them off from your phone. It will tell you what codes accessed your lock. You can open and lock door remotely. We are very pleased with ours. Was easy to install and set up.

Moving to TV in a month. Our current apartment has electronic deadbolts. You can set guest codes. There is an Activity log of opening & closing, and by whom. I don’t think it will notify in real time when accessed tho. That, I have a seperate camera that will notify me when tripped.

most will have that option, our schlage app does this, as we have the encode and have different codes active for different people, and it works fine.

If that is your concern, then google wireless door lock apps for iPhone. . and read the reviews.

If for a rental would a camera not work better. Someone could give the code out and you would not really know who it was accessing the door?

We have a Ring doorbell which records a video, time in and out. On the inside we have Simpli Safe cameras (3) set up in different spots in the house. Ring doorbell sends a noise signal to our iphones. Simpli Safe does the same. We signed up for a monthly charge for the Ring, glad we did, but not for the cameras at this point. Wanted to see how how just a limited signal and record worked. Happy so far.
