Very happy with Xfinity tv and internet service. Left Spectrum because their tv was awful. A couple of neighbors also switched from Spectrum. Xfinity usually has aggressive deals for new customers

I've had them both. I currently have Comcast/Xfinity and am very happy with their service and TV package however my contract is up and they raised the price by $60.00/month and even for a new contract it goes up about $20.00. To go back to Spectrum it would be about $25.00 cheaper.

My spectrum is more expensive than xfinity - i am changing to xfininty this week.
The BIG advantage of spectrum is 30 day commitment - you can upgrade/downgrade at any time - benefit for snowbirds (you can cancel TV and keep internet for smart devices any time).

Xfinity constantly raises their fees, even if you have a contract ...they would not be my first choice... I am thinking about going with T-Mobile wireless, a new service that is now available in the Villages.

We’ve had Comcast for 16 years, and over this period their service both tv and Internet have improved significantly. Our most recent 2 year contract expired and we were hit with a $50 increase. In the past you’d call them. Threaten to cancel and their retention dept would offer various discounts or contract bonuses to keep you.

Well, I tried this time-honored approach this month and it backfired. I had requested service cancellation effective 8/18, 3 weeks away. Within 24 hours they had cancelled my VOIP landline and cut back my Internet speed. I assumed the tv would go next. Took a few days to get everything restored. No one offered any discounts to keep us as a customer. This must be the new Xfinity business approach, take it or leave it.

Yes, we might have gotten comparable service from Spectrum for less cost but I asked myself was it worth the inconvenience and disruption, especially if it was limited to 12 months? BTW, my wife is a tv addict, and I could see this was not making her happy. We have no complaints about Comcast service, just their periodic and excessive price increases.

I had the exact same experience and you're right, not worth the hassle to switch to Spectrum.

I'd go with infinity, since it never ends Xfinity is a different matter

But seriously, I switched from Centurylink to Comcast (xfinity) last year and couldn't be happier (so far) Service is great---Century link would go down about twice a month; internet speed is faster, and it's $100 less/month for everything. I'm sure the price increases will be coming eventually

Sadly, so many things are sold that way. They hook you with a special introductory price
and then after you are hooked they raise the price. You can bet they have computer programs showing how many people do not stay with them. For a new customer, the cost is actually higher-equipment-wiring etc.

Competition is always good for the consumer. Which is better? You can bet the companies shop each other.

Comcast is like the bad guest who will not leave. Very hard to get rid of them. It requires several gatekeepers to get through. Once you get a live person on the phone. If you are tempted to stay and are trying to get a better rate, wait until you are speaking to a person in the disconnect office. You might get your best offer then. I got rid of them altogether. Spectrum isn’t much better. If a salesperson knocks on your door from Spectrum be careful with them. The guy I talked to lied through his teeth. At least with Spectrum there is no contract.
