Hello all:
I have done lots of research on the Villages and can't wait to visit. We had to cancel a Lifestyle visit as our beloved dog became terminally ill. Anyway, I know there are regional rec centers, but I am wondering about the individual rec centers for the individual villages. I see the Village Sun has a schedule for the regional rec centers. but I can't seem to find anything on the smaller rec centers. Does each village have their own rec center and do they have an activity schedule. Where would one find this information. Thanks, we have a rental in the Village of Fernandina early next year and hope to make a LSV before then. Thank. you for any help. |

I would suggest downloading the free Villages App and clicking on "Calendar" on the home page. You can see and search for all activities that are scheduled for the regional rec centers and for the village rec centers. There is also a recreation publication that comes out every Thursday and is available to pick up at the rec centers. Note that any Villager can attend any activity in any of the rec centers. You don't need to reside in that particular village.

There are large regional rec centers with a sports pool. Each regional rec center gas 4-5 neighborhood rec centers under them (smaller with family pools). Then most villages have a rec area with adult pool, shuffle board and bocci (?) ball. Then there are plenty of specialty areas. RC boats, air gun, archery.

The Recreation and Parks Publication available from the Daily Sun webpage contains the schedules for the local recreation centers also.
The local recreation centers are listed under the closest regional rec center. For example, I find my Manatee rec center in the section for the Eisenhower Area. If you are referring to the neighborhood rec center, the one with the postal station and adult pool, there are no organized activities at those so there are no schedules.
