Smile Where to donate household items/clothes

Hi,

I have some household items, clothes and bedding I'd like to donate. Does anyone know of a place to donate that has a collection box outside, or is open on nights or weekends? I live South of 466A, but can drive somewhere.

Thanks

Habitat for Humanity has a store on 44 on the south side of the street just east of Brownwood that will take them.

I know it is way out of your way ----- but, if you can get to the Sheriffs Annex on 466 they are having a truck there today to collect for their next big sale. This is the link to the Ranch Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches They are a very worthy cause. They take in, house, feed and generally take care of young people who are at the end of their rope. They really are amazing in the work they do.

The directions for you would be to take Morse towards 466, at the lights on 466 take a left, the Florida Sheriffs Annex building is on that corner. Or Take B.Vista to 466, turn right at the lights on 466, continue on 466 and the Sheriffs Annex is on your right.

They will have a truck in the back of the building today for pick up. One of the posters on this site gave this information this week, but I cannot find the link.

You can also contact American Red Cross. They have monthly pickups in TV. You just have to find out the date of the next pickup in your neighborhood. With Sandy, they're really going to need everything we can give them.

Default Lots And Laughs

Habitat For Humanity on 44, east of Brownwood a couple miles
Mothers Attic in Wildwood. This is the retail outlet for St. Vincent de Paul
Salvation Army in Belleview, east on Route 25 from the light in Belleview
St. Timothy Catholic Church, truck in parking lot once a month. Call for schedule

Plus lots of others.

Funny story though--I had to "tip" the little old guy unloading behind the Salvation Army thrift store in Belleview to get him to take a bunch of bags of clothing I was trying to donate--all really good stuff, some brand new. Up front they said they simply couldn't take all my stuff, already had too much. When I drove around the back I asked the old guy if for $10 he could make everything in the back of my SUV disappear. He did, and I was laughing at myself all the way home. Florida is different--sometimes you have to pay to make a donation!

Default Home Pick-up

The Salvation Army picks up in TV on Wednesdays. Call the number in Ocala and they will schedule for you. Efficient and they give you a receipt.

Wow, that is efficient. You mean you schedule them and they come to your home to pick up stuff?

Bring your things to Operation Shoebox for the Soldiers at Miona Rec center on Mondays between 11:30 and 2. There is a white truck beside the building and they take everything to the thrift store in Bellview. The proceeds go for postage to send care packages to soldiers.

Salvation Army in Belleview on CR 25 has closed...............
Centsible Furnishings on N441 just 1 mile past SR 42 will gladly accept your donations & the proceeds benefit the needy in the tri-county area.

Also, Hospice has a new store across from Walmart on 441 & at the end of that Spruce Creek Shopping Center is a Goodwill truck who will also accept your items.

I take my furniture to My Mother's Attic on 301 in Wilwood. There is a thrift shop next door to donate clothes, One stop shopping!

Default Goodwill

There is an outside collection box available 24 hr/day in the parking lot of the autoparts store at the corner of 466 and 441. If you want a receipt they have a manned truck behind the plaza opposite the Walmart on 441 during business hours
