Don Garlits Racing Museum in Ocala is huge, interesting and takes some time to see.

Go swimming, rain never bothers you in a pool.

Take them to the Market of Marion. It's easy to kill a couple of hours there. Stop on the way home for a bite to eat.

Drive to the nearest Costco, do a little shopping...then have lunch there.

take them to the space museum where you can see all the former space capsules. It is either in Orlando or Cocoa Beach area, not sure.
