Default What Color is my Paint?

So I live in a Courtyard Villa next to Lake Sumter Landing and I need my perimeter wall painted but can't find out what color it is.

Villages Home Warranty does not have the info. I checked online and called (352.753.6222) but they could only tell me what color my house was but not the outer wall color.

They referred me to Community Standards (352.751.3912) who are looking for the answer but have not gotten back to me.

Home Warranty also referred me to the Development Office (352.875.6219) where I left a message and am waiting.

Home Warranty also said just take a paint chip to the paint store. How do I remove a big enough chip from a stucco wall? Since the paint on my wall is very faded will it match? I asked if the Villages would mind if the new paint wasn't an exact match to the original paint. They wouldn't commit.

So there's my question -- how do I find out the original color of my CYV perimeter wall?

Thanks - Mark

I would get some color sample cards from a paint store and find one that appears to match. Then, buy a small sample jar and apply some to the wall. I have purchased small jars of paint from Lowes for about $1.50.

Try calling Florida Paint in the villages. Give them your address or your house/lot code. They probably the color on file.

OP, are you responsible for the maintenance of the wall? If so, look for an area that is shaded, and borrow a hammer and chisel and chip off some of the stucco. If this is a common wall you may be able to check with a neighbor for a shaded area to get an accurate color. Other option would be to get several of the paint chip cards and hold these up to the shaded area and pick the one that is closest to the color of the wall. Then use that to get the correct paint for stucco. You will also need to get the correct knapp roller for stucco.

Ask some of the neighbors that may have already painted their section

Go here

https://www DOT thevillageshomewarranty DOTcom/product-search/

Enter your villager ID number and all the selections for your house (even if you are not original owner) can be printed.
If someone changed a wall color, it will not be on here, this is the original stuff.

Thank you for your responses.

Florida Paints has no records since my home was built in 2011.

Villages Home Warranty has no records of the perimeter wall color, either.

I suppose I must now go 'round knocking on doors and asking neighbors if they know.

But really, for a place as organized as The Villages this kind of record-keeping is sadly inept.

I have to take issue with the last line of your post. They don't owe you a color selection 12 years after buying a house. It's not difficult to match an existing color. Any painter could do it.

In 2011 the paint was probably sold by Color Wheel. I think they went out of business around that time. Sherwin Wms then had their formulas. As of 2016 when we repainted our house they still had the formula for our paint, "Rugged Trail," which we wanted. Recently, they no longer have it. So, as others said, your best bet is probably to ask your neighbors if anyone can come up with a sample or chip.
So, apparently you are responsible for repainting your side of the villa wall? If so, does your villa neighborhood paint the outside and select the color and paint?

Why not pick a color you like -- something similar to the existing color; submit that to the ARC for approval. Perhaps all this hoop-jumping will be a moot point as they will accept what you submit. Good luck!

I found the color codes for my house (exterior walls and trim) by checking the copy of the house specifications I received at closing.

The OP needs the color for the perimeter wall in his backyard, not the exterior wall of his house.

most village homes are painted from the villages paint. bring a picture and they should be able to identify it. this was what i needed to do when i needed paint as lowe’s wouldn’t even try to match it.
