Default We have Spectrum for our TV

If we also wanted YouTube TV, is that something extra on top of Spectrum?

Thank you!

Yes. They are separate services. You can stream YouTube TV with Spectrum but it’s not included. Just like Netflix would be extra.

Thank you...so in order to get You Tube TV, we would still need Spectrum?

You are comparing apples to oranges. You TubeTV is a streaming service that provides multiple TV channels for a cost of $73 per month. Spectrum is a cable TV and Internet service that has various packages of channels and the ability to get internet service with wifi. If you want YouTubeTV, you would most likely get a very basic level of Spectrum channels or no channels and their internet service and subscribe to YouTubeTV separately. I would suggest going to the website "suppose.tv" to see how much your list of desired channels will cost. I would also call Spectrum to see what type of internet service plans they offer. For many people, YouTubeTV provides all the channels they need, but it doesn't offer internet service.

Spectrum is an internet provider. YouTubeTV is a streaming service. You need internet for streaming services on your TV.

However, Spectrum has an add-on that is similar to YouTubeTV that is less expensive. I had YTTV and switched when we installed Spectrum. For my use, same difference. YMMV

You would need Spectrum or another internet provider. Once you have internet you can access the streaming services of your choice.

We use basic internet from Comcast that cost $40 per month, then added YouTube tv, Netflix & Plex to get all movie and local channel streaming.

Default Rabbit Ears

Just get rabbit ears, a UHF hoop and buy three or four rolls of foil at Costco. Problem solved.

Seriously, you need to purchase internet which can be Spectrum if you like. Then if you want Spectrum TV or YouTube then pay for that monthly.

If you're in the newer areas, they come with Centric fiber preinstalled and operational before you even move in. They are $65 for 1Gb service, which is cheaper than Spectrum's comparable speed service. Spectrum has a streaming service for subscribers that you can use anywhere. We have Spectrum in NY for internet, TV, and use for our security system, and we use the streaming service down here for no additional charge. Once we sell the house up north, we'll drop Spectrum and probably go to YouTube TV, as they seem to have more for less.

Think of it as a roadway and traffic on that roadway.

The roadway is an internet service provider; e.g. Spectrum, Comcast, Centurylink, etc.

They provide connectivity to Content Providers; e.g. Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc.

You need one roadway and as many content providers as your tastes desire.

Roadways come with various speed capabilities. Faster typicaly costs more.

Content is every form of entertainment imaginable.
Quality content is very affordable,
Sports cost more,
junk is free.

YouTube TV has a “blind spot”. No History Channel.

I supplement my YouTube TV with a Frndly (sic) Service subscription for $6.99 a month just to get History.

Hulu also competes with YouTube and Spectrum.

Football corner..
YouTube TV also has exclusive rights to the NFL Sunday Ticket ($379). I buy NFL Red Zone for 10.99 during the season.
