Thumbs down Waterfront Inn

Way to Go...we are very pleased with the Waterfront Inn in resolving our issues in a timely manner. Our issue was simply a mixup in paperwork but the GM Christy Kitt came to a very amicable resolution. We look forward to having visitors stay at the Waterfront Inn. Thank you Christy.

...if you have any transaction be sure to get staff names and a written record of your transaction.

If you had only followed your own recommendation. How could they not find the reservation at all in the system and yet billing seemed to work just fine? Did you go back to confront the very people you spoke with 3 weeks prior to Christmas?

They probably did not spell you last name correctly and that's why they couldn't find your reservation.

I usually get a confirmation e-mail when I make a reservation at any hotel. I am surprised if this is not their standard policy. I am also surprised they didn't offer a confirmation number.

Should have rectified the billing, as it makes good business sense.

Has happened before. They have no idea what they are doing over there.

Dipute the charge with your credit card company.

I'd book online whenever possible, to have the emails with confirmation numbers. (Always "get it in writing".)

I booked online at Waterfront's website for Christmas last year, and then I cancelled online a couple of weeks before the date and online it produced confirmation emails. I still have the cancellation email and it has both a Reference number and a cancellation number.

Sorry you had that experience. It's a nice place to stay. Hopefully the credit card company will get it fixed.
