Here and there.
There is a sometimes smelly sewer treatment plant (all sewer plants smell - some worse than others) on El Camino Real and a couple others and some sewer pump stations in TV. Sniff around some and you'll eventually find them. .

There is one off Rolling Acres off Rt. 466 near the Woodworking Building. I think I saw something that looks like it might be one near the Villages of Spingdale/Woodbury Pool off of Belle Meade Circle. There may be one off of Buena Vista Blvd south of 466 between the two Odell Circle round-abouts. The only odoriferous one that I've notice when the wind is right is the one off El Camino Real near the Village of Alhambra.

Funny you should bring this up. When we were in the "search" mode after we decided to buy at TV, we wanted to know where all detractors were, so I looked at the satillite photos and identified all the RRs, Power Line, and Treatment Plants, etc. Then got the historical weather data, to see wind directions. Using all this we decided that Bonita was central to everything, and had the least detractors.
Then we studied land elevations, to avoid any flooding from heavy rain. Then marked it all on a map of TV to include the elevation contour lines. That lead us to our neighborhood and finally our Villa within it. Army Guy

Thanks for sharing that information, Army Guy. You make me feel glad that we are moving to Bonita in January!

The discharge from the sewer treatment plants go into their own holding ponds (I had a tour of the treatment plant by Beuna Vista and Bonita and its holding pond is adjacent to the plant). This water, along with street runoff is used for golf course irrigation. So, despite rumors to the contrary, no treated water from the sanitary sewers is used on residential lawns. |

That's incredible Army Guy, thanks. I'm a single woman and I'm going to retire to the TV in a year or two. How do I research and get these satellite photos and land maps to assure that I'm not going to get taken when I buy my house? I've been to TV 4 times now, and I've noticed alot of high voltage wires and I do not want to be by those or any treatment plants!

Halle is correct and here is a link that takes you directly to Sumter County's GIS map: http://sumtergis.com/GIS/
I also use the maps at these sights: http://www.bing.com/maps/ http://maps.google.com/ |

What map did he use that showed the RR tracks? Also would you mind listing the sewage plant locations. I am trying to mark them on my TV map. Thanks.
