Buy a new receiver. If you only need 2 channels, it will be less than $200.

I bring my early 70s Pioneer equipment to Audio 3000. They are in Jacksonville and their phone # is 904-557-8413. I've always had good service from them.

A friend uses Pro Audio Electronics in Tampa. Their # is 813-232-3907.

If you have other questions, let me know.

I have the equipment to test the receiver, however, I would need to get a copy of the schematic and repair manual if possible. You can send a PM with the symptoms and your phone number and we can get together, if you are interested.

I am really not interested in replacing the stereo. I have owned this Marantz for 30 years and the sound quality it produces is incredible, when it's working properly.

Thanks for the repair shop info.
The stereo was popping with low volume on one channel, and has progressed to little to no volume response .

With the additional info, you probably have one or more capacitors that have gone bad, a common problem in older equipment.
