As I think most of know, the Villages of Citrus Hills claims to benefit from being 260 feet higher (measured on a golf course) and that keeps the temperatures cooler with less humidity. About 5 degrees degrees cooler than The Villages.
I never believed that claim and I found a website that shows in great detail with charts and graphs that there isn't that big a difference between The Villages and the Villages of Citrus Hills. Here is a link: https://www.bestplaces.net/climate/?...12&c2=51271625 Please tell me what you think. Thanks! Marvin |

I would expect less prone to freezing air cold air settles, but I would doubt any differences on high temperatures. I have driving on Rolling Acres road with the top down during cooler weather and there was a significant drop in temperature on still nights in the valleys.

The average atmospheric lapse rate suggests less than 1F difference (due to higher elevation). The website you provided bears this out.

Well we know when Florida goes under water where high point is? My elevation at my house about 85 feet above sea level. Another benefit being 250 feet more earth would probably equate to less sink holes?

We were in TV 2013-2020 moved to Citrus Hills 2021-8/2022 and then back to The Villages. Overall vs TV the temperatures were about 4 degrees cooler in the morning…by 3-4pm they were about the same. However, the prevailing wind in the winter was much stronger 10-15mph minimum in the winter, making it feel much cooler.

It is a great option for those who don’t like crowds and local taxes. It’s close to Inverness and only about 10 minutes to the coast if you want to own a boat. It really does seem to be expanding though.

I see no significant difference in heat. However, closer to the Gulf there could be more damage to your property from storms and hurricanes in the gulf.

Actually there was almost no damage during Hurricane Milton, yet parts of the Villages lost power for almost a week. Shingles are still missing on roofs here. This could happen to them sometime in the future though, just as much is it could happen here. Neither area is in a mandatory evacuation zone. Storm surge is also a non issue for both.

That’s cause the hurricane hit up at cedar Key 40 miles away and can’t predict wrap around winds. Old section of village normally looses power in high winds. Rest of villages has underground service unless hits power Line supply. I been citus hills few times playing in league. Nice area but, nowhere were near amenities of villages vs number of houses. Most are on 1/2 to acre lots if like yard work? |

Citrus Hills is seperate west of I75. Large lots and in general more home for the money than here.
About the size of 3-4 Villages. Very nice facilities, couple of golf courses, club houses and a restaurant. If thinking about buying, ask about special assessments. |
