The Villages Lifestyle Visits are an interesting way to familiarize yourself with The Villages and central Florida. Checking the internet, I see 4-to-7-day visits at $99 to $199/night depending upon time of year. Includes a golf cart and a 3-bedroom house and perhaps other benefits. As I recall, these visits do not have any requirement for any sales presentations.
Are any readers aware of similar offers from developers in other areas of the country. Not interested in offers requiring high pressure sales presentations. Any suggestions are appreciated. |

The Villages lifestyle visits include no presentation at all. I did one 14 months ago. Zero pressure from our main contact the whole visit. They seem to take the view that The Villages will sell itself, and it certainly did for me. Information was provided if/when requested, that's it.
The few places that I looked into previously from other developers, I'm still getting calls/emails weekly even after unsubscribing from their emails and telling them that I'm not interested multiple times. Last edited by MrChip72; 06-03-2023 at 12:35 AM. Reason: Added info |

We did a lifestyle visit many years ago, the sales rep was great took us to show various neighborhoods and types of homes available at the time. We tried to by several homes, but there were others that had already signed paperwork, ended up buying a lot and building, and in retrospect this was a great move. But there was NO high pressure sales tactics at the time.

I don't think the Developer needs to advertise on ToTV.

Why not ? It's free and not even owned by them.

OTOW, no golf cart and no free round of golf.

All Lifestyle visits should include golf at the executive courses. Might change one's mind about the free-golf-for-life incentive for buying here.

Citrus Hills, no overnight stays.
By the way, Citrus Hills and OTOW, both claim to be Florida's Premier Retirement Community. |

No to your question regarding ad for the developer. I am just wondering if there were similar no pressure deals in places like Arizona , California where you could get a lifestyle Visit and then use as a base for a tour the local area.
If anyone were interested in a vacation in Central Florida. The Villages could be a good base for exploring this area. |

When we first visited TV (for about a week), we stayed with friends. While not an actual "Lifestyle Visit", the "free" golf (I had to pay $7 as a guest) was a major plus...

We did OTOW last summer, they did a “semi mandatory” tour of the area surrounding OTOW, as well as touring homes. Golf car was included, I’m still getting emails from them. We’ve done 2 lifestyle visits to TV, absolutely no pressure but were given the name of a VLS agent in case we wanted them to show us around. Also visited Ocala Preserve, once again it was a mandatory tour of their model homes with a “sit down” with their sales specialist, still get the occasional phone call/email from them.

Back around 2010 I spent a few days there. The houses were well constructed and the community beautiful. The problem for me is that there were no urban communities in which to shop, go to restaurants and so on nearby. They gave me a very nice duplex unit for two or three nights and ended up comping it as it was not quite ready when I arrived.

We did the Lifestyles package a few months before we decided that this was where we wanted to retire. NO high-pressure anything. We had questions so we went to the sales office and talked to someone. They suggested the trolley ride, which we did. I don't think they even took us on a tour of homes (the sales people). We 1/2 way thought we'd keep hearing from them after our stay but we never did. ALL of our contact was instigated by us!! The place sells itself.
