Just checked their website. 5G is not available at my address...
5G is not available for most of the Villages area. When they do provide for my area, I will consider it. Until then, it's useless in my opinion. From what I an determine, there is one tower on Rt466 which is the closest and that is no where near enough. |

I tried Tmobile in McClure. No matter where I put the modem, I could not get a good signal. When I returned the modem, Tmobile promised to tell me when the signal got better in my area.

Speedtest showed up to 80 during the night but slowed to sometimes less than 10 during heavy Turnpike traffic. A good test is to try Speedtest from your phone connected to 5G different times of day. (With WIFI off) |

After seeing T-Mobile ads on TV I decided to check them out at their store in Spanish Springs next to Publix. Very nice service and response. We decided on two new iPhone 13's, plenty of service, and a free case, two year contract. Monthly cost? $128! Since switching to T-Mobile I've noticed than when away from wi-fi we always get the strongest quality 5G signal--in our home, on the road, wherever.I haven't found a location in The Villages or anywhere nearby that we don't get the maximum strength 5G service, never a dropped call. Regarding streaming--I stream shows from the iPhone to my Samsung smart TV all the time. I can't remember not getting the strongest 5G signal, wherever we are. And the prospect of new free iPhones when the new ones are introduced is a pleasant prospect. Phone plans are complicated and based on useage so the need to be analyzed. I'd strongly recommend evaluating your needs and comparing Verizon with T-Mobile. Actual service, dropped calls, etc. are impossible to evaluate from the store. All I can say is to repeat our experience that we always get the strongest possible 5G signal strength... at half the cost of Verizon! I asked the T-Mobile rep how their prices could be so much cheaper. All I'll do is repeat his answer. "It probably has to do with the size of the companies. T-Mobile is owned by the huge European telecommunications company, Deutche Telecom. So T-Mobile and its parent company are probably ten times the size of Verizon."

Why didn’t you put where you live - otherwise response is useless to readers.

My wife and I have been with Verizon forever. Two cell phones $107/ month. Our internet and TV services are with Xfinity/comcast. $230/ month in Maine, and $170/month in TV. Same level of service is a drastic change in price. What a scam. Now, when where're at the other home we put the opposite one on seasonal, for $50/month. Another scam. I would love to combine all my services into one to save some money, but not sure how to go.

We tried the TMobile internet for about 2 mos. We live in Lake Deaton. The best that we could do was 2 bars. Since we stream TV we needed reliable bandwidth. Often we had freezing and buffering and when we had visitors with their devices it just go worse. Finally gave up and switched.

Can you quantify that? What does SpeedTest say your download speeds are at various times of day?

I then posted that I checked and it was not available where I live...

I dumped Xfinity a couple of years ago and went with a CenturyLink land line at much less cost. I have T-mobile 5G cell service on my phone. So I just ran Internet speed tests on both.
CenturyLink landline - 46 mbps T-Mobile 5G - 59 mbps The cost is nearly the same, although CenturyLink is a hair cheaper. Since CenturyLink has been extremely reliable, I am not motivated to switch at this time since both of those speeds are more than adequate for our use.

Same thing here. Only get one bar on the phone. I tried calling 911 and it tanked.
