Question Use Gas Grill in Lanai?

Is it okay to use a gas grill inside the lanai? Is it safe? Will it discolor the ceiling? Any other issues/problems I should be aware of? Thanks!

When looking for our home, we visited many re-sales. You could definitely tell which ones grilled inside their lanai. Smoke discoloration on the wall and ceiling...

Personally, I wouldn't do it, unless I had a real "Summer Kitchen" with a dedicated range hood/vent...

Been doing it close to four years and don't see any noticeable discoloration on the walls, ceiling, columns.

If you have vinyl siding keep the grill away from the walls, the heat can warp the siding. We have stucco, and have grilled along the outside corner of the lanai, I did notice some smoke discoloration on the column, I was able to clean with power washer.

We bought a home that grilled in the lanai and they allowed the grease drippings to accumulate on the floor of the lanai. We’ve cleaned it but you can still tell. We’ve put our grill outside.

Check with fire dept. it may be against code. Had former neighbor burn down their house because grill was on a porch.

I would be afraid of fires. If the grill has a flash or there is an issue with the propane it could be a problem.

See the thread about critters living in their grill. People have reported in the past that rodents ate their way through the screen to get at the drippings in the grill.

Grill inside your Lanai??????????? And why would you do that???????
The Grill belongs outside of the lanai. Don't you have a patio?????
I use my grill in my birdcage, about 14" from the screening and no problems.
Call 911 if you have a fire.
