The same family developed Aldi's and Trader Joe's. You got my vote.

Thank you. I just sent my "two cents", asking for a store in TV. It would be great!

When I ask what makes Trader Joes so wonderful, I get a lot of hesitation and a lot of talk about unusual Asian vegetables and stuff I have never eaten.

Never been in a Trader Joe's, and fully realize that they are very wanted here, but can't get the picture. Anyone willing to tell me one more time why you love this store?

Gracie - as a TJ groupie, it is hard to explain, but once you go to a TJ, you are usually hooked. They have food from different cuisines, organic foods, foods you can't find elsewhere, all for very reasonable prices. To me, shopping there is like shopping at a gourmet grocery store without all the gourmet prices. I know that may not help you, but that's the best I can do.

I like them because they are an affordable Whole Foods (Whole Paycheck). They carry many fresh and frozen items that are unique to them. That and they have 3 buck chuck.

Request sent

Gracie, I think there have been plenty of answers to your questions in the past about what's great in TJ's, including my own. You could do a search. To repeat, some day I will bring you and Helene a plastic carton of their fabulous cinnamon/sugar graham crackers and a box of their unbelievably scrumptious tomato/red pepper soup. And their frozen whatever-it's-called--kind of like a pizza, but with flaky crust topped with lovely cheese and shavings of ham. Every time I serve it for an appetizer, people want the recipe. Plus they have the same frozen chocolate croissants that you can mail-order at three times the price from Williams-Sonoma. I could go on, but please do a search.

I'm in for the request; thanks for the link, villager.

Sent. Please, even if you've never shopped at TJ's or know nothing about it, help us folks out who love it. It's not going to drum Publix out of business. In fact, it might make the shopping experience there more pleasant, as there will be a scant fewer people.

If anyone is in the Gainesville area and wants to know what Trader Joe's is all about, you can check them out (address below). I have been wanting to see what everyone is talking about. I was even up there this week, but never gave them a thought. I have been wanting to see why they are so loved.
