Does anyone have this same problem with their pool. When we get up in the morning and check out the pool there are tiny bugs floating. A handful are about 1/8th of an inch and hundreds are smaller and they look like they could be eggs or babies, they are about the size of a small poppy seed. The smaller ones cluster together with a larger one usually in the center. We had the same problem last year and it only lasted about 2 weeks and now they are back again this year. The larger ones also appear to have wings. We never see them anywhere else, just in the pool in the morning. They probably will go away again in another week, just curious as to what they might be. They seem harmless but what are they?

We have just the tiny poppyseed size. Every morning. They look like gnats. I think with all the rain and wind they are small enough to be blown through the screen of the birdcage. I spend a half hour every morning getting them out!

I don't know what they are, but they seem to get in after heavy rain. To get rid of them, adjust your "eyeballs" a little higher so they push them into the skimmer. In a few hours, they'll all be gone.

Yes they appear mostly after heavy rain. The wind must blow them thru the birdcage. Try this...in the evening when we are finished swimming, I throw the styrofoam noodles in the pool. In the morning the bugs are on the noodles. Take the noodles out one at a time because some bugs will be on top of the water. Skim those bugs and just rinse the noodles with a hose. The noodle corrals them! I am not kidding!

Lassoing gnats with a noodle. Now I've heard everything!

I think they might be called white flys. We had them in South Fl, they are a real problem

Thanks all for your help. Seems like its only after rain that we see them. I went and bought 2 noodles today, perfect timing with the rain we are getting now.

Thanks for asking this question. I thought I was losing my mind WhenI saw all of those bugs? I spend a lot of time before swimming to get those things out of the pool. Sometimes after it rains there are hundreds! I also find that sometimes when they die they sink, so when you swim in the pool you stir them up thus you never get rid of them. The pool also gets real dirty when the lawns are mowed. I still wouldn't give my pool up for anything!!
