Maybe someone knows the answer...I seem to recall a place where you could borrow equipment like walkers, wheelchairs and turn them in when you no longer need them. Sumter Landing maybe? Anyone know? Thank you.

I was not aware of post #2. You may visit the Baptist thrift store on Citizen's blvd. They often have Walkers, canes, wheel chairs. Prices are reasonable. You can donate it back and consider the cost as rent.

Our neighborhood has, over the years, put together such a collection which is kept in someone's garage. Do you have a neighborhood group? If so, it may have the same.

VHA Helping Hands in Spanish Springs, behind Kerwins ice cream....phone 352-973-2284....you will need to leave a message stating what you need, and they will call you back and arrange to bring it to the location in SS.....all volunteers working, use for free or donations always appreciated. I've borrowed many items many times. they are there at the office location usually M=F 10-2, if they have enough volunteers to assist. Hope this helps.

Sure is. The Villages Homeowner Advocates (VHA) has a program where durable medical equipment (such as walkers, canes, transporters, etc) are loaned out on a short or relatively long term basis. It is located in Spanish Springs (1104 Main Street). Open from 11am to 1pm Mon thru Fri. Call the at 352-973-2284. Great organization.
