The Town has approved 8,500 new residential communities that ARE NOT 55+. There are several properties that are asking Town for re-zoning and annexation to allow another potential 10,000 more just in the immediate area of Griffin Ave and also 466 area.
Tell your Ward Commissioners to VOTE NO on these requests. We have enough traffic and other inconveniences such as not being able to get timely medical appointments. Please tell Town and Commission NO MORE DENSITY |

Wow, if each of these 8500 communities has 125 people that is a million new residents in Lady Lake. It will get crowded with a million new people. If only they were all OVER 55+, then at least it would still get quiet at 9 PM

It’s not 8,500 communities it’s 8,500 additional people in 3 communities. There is the very real potential that many more of these communities are coming and very soon.
The answer to whether the Commission will listen is Yes if you go and make your voice heard. You voted for them to support and protect your interests. You can live your life being an optimist or a pessimist. Which choice serves you better. |

I'm supposed to be concerned about 8500 young people? Why would 8500 young people move here, other than to take a job serving us old folks?
I just hope a couple of them are doctors with a medical degree from a place I can pronounce! |

These are very real concerns, you think traffic is bad now, it's going to get a lot worse. Forget about getting a doctors appointment in a reasonable amount of time. This isn't an alarmist ringing a bell, it's a reality.
If the thought of the 8,500 young people coming in and partaking in your daily town square activities at your expense doesn't bother you then you can go about your day. When the additional 10,000 more come in will it still not be a concern or will you just move? Educate yourself, look at Stopgrandoaks.com and see for yourself. This is a reality not a scare tactic. |

Who wants to do a search of TOTV and find all the complaints of bad service in restaurants, etc?

I assume that Lady Lake needs the growing tax base just like Wildwood and Leesburg do. I imagine that the town watched in awe as The Villages expanded over the last 3 decades and other than the original historic section and a fews parts across 441 in Lake County, the town of Lady Lake was left out of the tax revenue derived from the homes being built but had to deal with the traffic nonetheless. To this day, much of the retail business in and around TV is on or near 441. This should change over time but that area will still remain vibrant.

This is a free country. Owners of private property have rights. If zoning and such is ok they should be able to proceed. If nothing were ever built the few humans alive would still be living in caves.

Yes, I agree to your statement that the owner of a property has rights, my rights are being impacted. I bought and invested my home in a rural setting now someone is coming in and pushing me out of my property.
If I came in and put a High School in your front yard without you having prior knowledge would you open your arms to it? There are those who like and enjoy urban and those who like and enjoy rural. What right does someone have to come in and force urban on me without my permission. Are you saying we can only vote on what others think we should have?
