Default Rialto not coming back?

Occasionally we get an update on work being done at the Rialto, but I have seen no activity since we moved in last year. Anyone know the real story?

Priorities.

There are VERY FEW new movies to show. I think they will get around to completing the remodel once there is a product to offer.

This question was asked in the May issue of "The VHA Voice".

Dr Lester answered:
"The roof of the Rialto Theater is being worked on now. The movie industry is going through many changes. Completing the Rialto Theater and decisions we make for all The Villages movie theaters is dependent on how the movie industry proceeds."

This suggests to me that whether or not to complete the Rialto project has not been decided.

IMHO, if the apartments are not approved, Spanish Springs will not get much attention from the developer.

I do think that they think they will get approval. The opening of the new "upscale" restuarant where Too Jays was and the new pricier menu at Augustines indicates to me that apartments will be developed. And the use of the former Hacienda Country Club land is still undecided.

Why should anyone be in a hurry to spend money to expedite opening up a business that is experiencing extreme uncertainty and technological change? Throwing good money after bad is never a good idea.

Imo the can do what they want with commercial buildings they have already built, but, IMO and I can have one, HH apartment never should of been allowed in already built out area that developers sold amenities to district long ago.

IMHO once demand for going to see movies picks up the venues will reopen

problem is that everything that Hollywood is putting out isn't worth going to see if you're a senior, have values and want and actual story line

From what I read, amenities will be there and available to all of us, including a pool, tennis, pickleball and possibly a restaurant if they can find someone to manage it.
