Default Reprogramming Allstar MVP garage door opener remote

One of my remote garage door openers isn't working and I just changed the batteries but still is not connecting to the head unit to open the door.

Thinking I have to reprogram the unit but the manuals are pretty vague about the process. Does seem like I need too use the wall controls to get into program mode and then I just hit the button on the remote. My concern is I also have a wireless keypad remote that I don't want to mess up and I do have another remote that works.

Can anyone provide a simple, easy explanation on how to reprogram the remote device?

Thanks in advance....

Which unit are you trying to program? The hand held unit can be separately programmed. This is normally done to insure that you have a unique code to open your door. However, if that issue was never a problem, and the unit has been working before, I recall that the process requires getting the hand held control recognized by the controller motor. If all is working well, you should be able to press a pin into the hole on the wall control unit. That should put the controller into the learn mode which should cause the controller lights to change. Then within a couple of seconds, you press one of the buttons on the hand held unit (the button you want to open the door), and the controller will acknowledge by clicking off one of the lights. The hand held control should then be recognized by the controller and operate the door.

I should point out that I did have a trouble with a short in the wall control unit that caused me problems last year. I bought a new one on the intranet for about $15 and that fixed the problem.

IF this does not work, send me a private message and I will work with you.

I do note that you seem to have the solution in mind but are concerned that you will affect the working unit. This should not be a problem , since the ceiling unit is capable of learning multiple codes.

My question is a little different. Has anyone had success programming the built in the visor controls of a Town and Country mini van or any built vehicle controls/Home Link? I’ve had no trouble in the past programming other brands of garage door openers, but the MVP unit has got me baffled.

We had no problem with our Grand Caravan and daughters Town and Country. Check your manual, Google it, and check youtube. You are probably missing one small step.

In our vehicle the procedure for reprogramming a HomeLink button that had been programmed previously is different than programming a button for the first time. Once I noticed that subtle difference the programming was very simple - just as simple as I had remembered it to be.

I must have an older unit because I just have a doorbell button on the garage wall to open the door. I looked on the ceiling mounted unit and couldn't locate a programming button or hole to insert a pin. I have a problem with one remote and would also like to use the built it opener in my vehicle. I' don't know how to put the ceiling receiver in program mode, any suggestions? My two remotes have three buttons , a minus(-) button a center button and a plus (+) button.

Default Garage remotes

Here is a suggestion. Call them the shop, it is just off of Rolling Acres, near the elementary school. in behind, way behind the Truss Building Facility, Lady Lake, Rolling Acres Road. Take your remote in, they can re program it and they are very competent, but not cheap. You do not have to pay for a home visit !! They will also sell you a Remote wireless pad to mount on the door casing, no need for a tech to do it, very EASY !! I put in a switch, also, now when we leave, and at night, hit the switch, then no power to the door opener, works like a charm!! PM me if you like, I will clarify this for you, no charge !!

I had trouble with my new remote and outside wall mount openers. I tried following the manual and couldn't get it to work. I called the 800 support number and they walked me through the steps with no problem.

Can you please list the entire 800 number?
