Suggest that you get an agent from The Villages, and another from the independent companies. Realty Executives has been good for us. Have had some issues with TV agents, first you have to remember they do not work for you. They are interested in selling new vs resale homes, and it would be very wise to get from them in writing important issues.
Just sold a home with an independent (Kathy Abruzo Team) on the very first day, and for $20,000 more than TV indicated was the top dollar that they could support.

Choose Jill Kimball! -She is excellent as a person and wants to make you happy with your purchase - before and AFTER the sale - 5 years later she still takes all her home buyers out to dinner, or rents the entire theater for a movie (all food catered) and much much more. She has done this 3 times a year from 5 years ago when we bought our home from her. You will happier than with any other home purchase.

As I understand it Villages agents are more highly compensated for selling new homes than they are for resales. This makes good business sense for the developer which is primarily interested in selling off newly built inventory. After all, that is where the real money is!

My original Villages agent evaded showing me anything other than a very few spec built new homes. He told me to drive around and let him know if I saw an existing home I wanted to view. In other words I could do all the work and he could get the commission. No way, Jose!

Be certain your Villages agent is willing to show you resales if that is what you may want.

I was assisted 7 months ago by Gary Gage (tel 352-391-3770, email gary.gage@thevillages.com). His wife, Courtney (tel 352-603-6970, email courtney.gage@thevillages.com) is the second member of this great team.

Gary listened to my preferences and in 2 days brought me to about a dozen possibilities; on Day 3 I narrowed those down to my top 4, and Gary took me back to all of them. I then made an offer on my favorite, and it was accepted.

I can't say enough about how professional, skilled and helpful he was.
