Thumbs down Poor Warrenty Service at City Furniture

Hello, how is this store still selling in the Villages

I've read all the reviews now. Should of done it before we bought. Well our story is we moved into our 1st "New" home. All we needed was couple of pieces of furinture. My wife shopped around looking for a couch and chair and an ottoman. She had a price in her head that she wanted to spend and a quality line she didn't want to cross. She went to both CF's in the VIllages. She found the style and color she was looking for at CF. She bought them and Salesperson said all three pieces would not be delivered all at the same time. Fine. Couch came she was out of town. Lucky me I had to inspect it to my wifes liking. I didn't even sit on it till after she saw it. Couch passed! The chair and ottoman came later and she was here. The ottoman looked like it came off the showroom floor and been used for years. The delivery guy noted it, the lady he called when it was delivered noted it. The guy that came for the warrenty noted it and left. We get a call later that day from warrenty and say "thats the way it should be" Y'all propable heard my wife up in Spanish Springs, we live in the Southern part of TV. Well 30min on the phone with warrenty the guy says CF will send out a new one. We waited 3 months for the ottoman, the ottoman been in our house for 2 months and now we have to wait how long for the replacement. I'm sure TV only likes that there rent checks don't bounce.

What does The Villages rent checks have to do with any of this? They aren't responsible for City Furniture. City Furniture is just a tenant. It's a big chain in Florida, all around the state.

Most of the furniture in my house came from City Furniture. It's not high quality, but I am satisfied with it. They did send a guy out to drill screws into the bed slats to stop it from squeaking. I hope you didn't pay extra for a warranty. Definitely not a good thing to do. In today's world, you can't buy high quality furniture because most people are too cheap to pay for it, especially leather. In northern Virginia, I had a very high quality leather sectional that cost more than $5,000 from Scan Furniture, but the company went out of business. The leather furniture they sell in stores now is not worth buying.

I assume they are in leasing to make money.

I have nothing but praise for City. I furnished my whole house during Covid with them. Bought the warranty. Had no claims for 3 years and got a hefty credit with them.
Bought two new couches and had a problem with one 2 months after delivery. They sent service out Christmas week. Decided it couldnt be easily repaired and replaced both sofas with a new set that came New Years Eve!!
I am quite happy with them.

Of course they do. I like collecting money too. In fact I don't know of anyone who wouldn't agree that collecting money is a pleasurable concept. City Furniture is a legitimate business. I go there once in awhile to get ideas and inspiration, but I wouldn't ever actually buy anything from them. Don't forget the electric company likes collecting their money from City Furniture. And the employees of City Furniture like collecting their money from City Furniture. The manufacturers of the products City Furniture sells, like collecting their money from City Furniture too. The delivery drivers like collecting their money from City Furniture.

Are we going to include all of these other entities in our complaint against City Furniture? If not, why not?

It's called business. Why is that a problem?

You got off really LUCKY believe it or not. They got over $15,000 from us, special order must be 100% paid. After MONTHS they delivered the WRONG furniture, line, style, color, NOTHING was near what we ordered. Brought it all inside IN BOXES, shoved one large box with a HUGE buffet through the drywall. Drivers refused to take furniture out stating "NOT our job". Multiple calls to CF brought no results, sales rep. (soooo very nice and pleasant) was always "out" and never returned any of our calls. Went to store in person, manager came out, looked at furniture and at our receipt which states the style, line, and colors we selected, then he asked that we take photo of hole in hall wall and email to him. Never heard a word from anyone again. Reported to Seniors vrs. Crime (they have no legal powers) just to add to their LONG list of complaints, and then contacted Florida attorney general's office. They too had a LONG backlog on this one company. Filled out all information, with copies of receipts, date the wrong order was delivered, etc. Took over 18 MONTHS but the A.G.'s attorney's DID succeed in forcing them to come get the furniture (most of which we had to store in the garage all those months) and we did finally get ALL three rooms of the furniture we ordered and paid for in full. HOW they keep in business, I suspect as Barnum said, "there's a sucker born every minute." ..and moving to The Villages... and buys new furniture". ALL those months they had our $15,000 and we were stuck with the wrong order and a hole in the hall wall !

This was our experience as well. We bought a huge amount of furniture from CF about a year ago during one of their big sales events. The sales promotion included free delivery & set up. Nothing we purchased was considered a "special order," so it was all in stock and delivered at the same time. We also purchased the warranty. They did a great job delivering and assembling everything. When they left every piece of furniture was set up in the right places throughout the house. They took away all the boxes and packing materials. While they were assembling the furniture, we were able to inspect each piece and they did this as well. In fact, the person assembling the metal feet onto a white leather bench notified us of a black mark that he noticed on the leather, and told us to immediately notify our sales person. Our sales person, had a leather repair guy come over within a few days. After he worked on it for less than 30 minutes, the mark was completely gone (he said that he was not a CF employee, and many furniture stores used his services). Our sales person told us that because this was reported during the delivery, it would not count against our warranty, which he claimed is important because if there are no other issues within the terms of the warranty, we will be entitled to a credit. So far, no issues. A year later, we are still happy with the furniture. It's all beautiful. Although our experience was excellent, I think there were many contributing factors (e.g. better service if they provide the delivery and assembly, purchase of the warranty, no special orders, etc.). However, reading all these negative comments gives me pause, and I will think twice before using them again should I ever need more furniture (beyond the credit that I might receive from the warranty). If I do, I will make sure that everything I buy is in stock and delivery with assembly is included or purchased.

We don't go to City Furniture due to acquaintances and friends that have had issues with the quality and service.

Default Delivery

I bought a bedroom set and a few pieces for my living room. Not the best quality furniture. I would not let them bring it in my house until I inspected every piece. One piece I refused delivery and made them bring me a new piece. Once it is in your house you have accepted it and you then have to have it fixed or warranted (if you bought one). Use caution with City Furniture.
