Default Pools

I have a question regarding the pools here in the Villages. We were told when we were looking to buy that the "resident" pools were just that - for the residents. We were told if we had guests they would go to the "family" pools. I accepted that and felt it was a nice idea. Insured the residents that they had a nice spot to go and a spot "just for them". My husband and I purchased a home in December and are enjoying the "Villages life". Today my husband and I went to our resident pool and were a bit surprised. There must have been a dozen 25 - 35 year olds there sunning and swimming as there was yesterday also. When the residents came in to swim - there were no seats left for them. I'm just questioning if the younger people shouldn't have been at the family pool so that the residents that are paying their monthly dues can have their pool to relax at?? Is my thinking wrong? I'm really just questioning this as like I said - we are new and don't know all the rules and ins and outs. Please give me your feedback so I know how it is here. They would not loud or disrespectful to anyone - I just need to know how things work here. Many thanks!!

To use the neighborhood pools you need to be 30 years old or older. Guests who get a guest pass from a resident can swim in the neighborhood pools if they are over 30. Possibly you saw some thirty year olds? I will tell you, however, that we had some younger people in the 20 year range swimming in our local pool and the Villages staff asked them to leave and mentioned that they could use the family pool down the road, but not the neighborhood pool. (One of our regular swimmers asked the staff to check these youngsters.)

We just had our son, daughter in law,and granddaughter visit us from Boston. When we all went swimming we went to the Big Cypress family pool. When my son and daughter in law (in their 30's) went alone (we were babysitting!) they went to the local Pinellas Pool.

And, if you are a resident with priority pool/golf, your guests are priority guests and can use the CC pools at any age.

Thank you everyone. You've helped me immensely in understanding the rules. It's hard when you first move in - have to learn all the ins and outs. I appreciate everyone explaining to me. Many thanks!

Not that is can't happen, but I find myself wondering why a DOZEN young women would even be here in a group. That is a lot of young people to be visiting here together at The Villages. At that age, I would have rather been at the beach than even at a really cool retirement community. No problem...just saying...

Duhhhh, me. Thanks! I lived in Cape Coral, and couldn't get my mind past that CC last night.
I think maybe I knew that about the Country Club pools, just forgot. Thanks again.
