Looking for suggestions / recommendations. We have a patio villa with the side lanai; it has the sliding windows with the tinted heavy gauge plastic on them to keep the rain out. I am looking for someone that would come out to the house and replace the old plastic with new. Has anyone had their plastic replaced? Thanks

Are you talking about acrylic sliders? If so, Martin Aluminum installed ours. They might be able to tell you if just the acrylic can be replaced.

If you are getting estimates to replace "Acrylic" sliders I suggest you also get estimates to get "glass" replacements. Glass windows probably will require a different support structure but as you found out the Acrylis or pastic sliders over a period of time scratch, weaken, or just yellow and need replacing. The other big factor is that when (its going to happen) we get a big storm (ie hurricane) these type of windows will be more vulnerable to wind damage than properly installed glass windows.
Just a suggestion! |

We had had CVS install vinyl on our lanai--didn't want glass do the weight--we had an indoor swimming pool in NC, the windows were glass & my wife could not move them

I believe the material you need for the windows is available from Pat's Sales down in Leesburg - you might give a call and ask. I think it is cut off a roll and your installer would need to cut to size.
Home Page As far as installation, Cunningham's is a great resource.
