We just stumbled across a display at our local Costco which had a sample of a "clear view" (clear vue?) shutter.
Like the traditional shutter but with out the center rod. small nearly invisivle metal strips go along the outside of each shutter and you open and close by simply tilting any of the louvers and they all follow suit. I loved them!! Anyone have these in TV? Through whom did you purchase them? I would love more information from owners! Thanks in advance!! |

I have them, too, from 48 Hr. Very well made. I love them. They have them with or without the post. IMO, doesn't make much difference.

We just had the clear view shutters installed 2 weeks ago. One suggestion when you order them check to see if they are a single long slat which some of our neighbors have or more like the true shutter door type shutter. It seems like those that had 48 Hours install them have that type. We also have the plantation shutters that slide on our patio door to the lanai. We LOVE them. We've had so many ask us about them just in the last 2 weeks. Just people going out for a walk, stop by and ask about them.
![]() The estimates for just the windows 48 Hours was $400 less than Blinds Plus Shutters. We felt the quality was much better, like the color choices and most especially liked the sliding plantation shutters with Blinds Plus Shutters. Oh, and when we made the order Carl put a temporary paper blinds up on all the windows for us so we would have a window covering for the 10 weeks it took for the order to come in. No one else offered to to this. One last thing, the blinds we have do NOT have that metal railing on the side. A much cleaner look. The blinds we had installed were Norman Blinds. Have fun shopping for the perfect things for your new home! |

I would like Plantation shutters on my front windows, but I don't want them to be all closed. I would like to have the bottom closed for privacy and the top open. Can that be done?

Yes, at least on ours you can. They have like 4 doors per window. You can open all of the doors or 1 The other option is keep the doors shut and open any of the sections of shutters. I'll try to take a photo. |

![]() This is a photo of our lanai slider. 2 of the 8 sections closed. Not sure why but the photo turned sideways. |
