Default Pinellas Plaza access

I was just wondering...
Last time I took the golf cart across 466A, there was no way to get to the Library at Pinellas Plaza. It appeared that the road would be built someday.
Are we there yet?

Default o'er the fields we go

Last time I went exploring that area, I could get the cart past an access gate, onto some other road and see the plaza just across a field.
Is that pretty much still the case?

Burnsed Blvd is now under construction and that will directly link Pinellas Place with the library. Unfortunately there is no golf cart path along 466, which seems to be a very bad design flaw. I am disappointed that golf cart tunnels seem to be placed with no logical pattern (for under 466A).

Travelguy: I'm sure you meant no cart path along 466A west of Bunea Vista and I was a bit surprised too. However, there must be a reason because the Developer hardly misses a "trick"---here in TV. I did notice that in original design of the land use plan that "financial Institutions" were planned where the Sumter Living Center has just been completed on the northside of 466A. Apparently, changes are sometimes made as time goes on and a better offer is made for land use.

Not yet! Having a street legal cart in the future at least might be another option...though they can't go on 466a except to cross it. I agree that they didn't think out the golf cart thing too well...at least from an early perspective. I'm sure that in the "big picture" plan...they had something in mind.

If you enter the County bldg/Library area via car from 466A there is a road on the north side of the building. In the Villages master plan dated Nov. 11, 2010 that road runs parallel to 466A and connects to Pinellas Place. I did play golf, yesterday, at the Palmetto course and noticed that Pinellas Place does connect from Buena Vista over to 466A but a good part of it is in a construction area. It does not appear that the road has been cut to wards the county bldg yet.

Default The Plaza

Bogie Shooter:
Yes, Pinellas plaza has both the County Building and Library
Sumter County, FL - Official Website - The Villages Sumter County Service Center

The building is often referred to (affectionately) as the Taj Mahal

from what I understand a street legal golf cart cannot cross another street where the speed limit is greater than 35. In other words street legal carts cannot cross 466A as 466A is posted at 45 mph. And that is why street legal cars are prohibited from crossing 466 and 441.

I see street legal carts crossing 441 every day. Not driving on 441..but crossing 441. The same goes for 466.

It seems to me that a new law was passed to go in effect in January that not only allows a street legal but also a regular cart to cross a 45 mph highway and I believe it is already legal for a street legal to do so. I see street legals traveling up Morse and crossing 466 on a regular basis.

We have a street legal cart and have crossed 441, 466, 466a and 44! We checked with the deputies and were told this was o.k. You can't drive your cart on a street that's posted over 35mph (such as on those roads) but you may cross them with a light or stop/sign intersection. I might add we also were followed (or were going in the same direction would be a better way of saying it) by a deputy and he never made a comment or indication that we were in the wrong.
