When we have picked up friends or family from Orlando, we've always parked in the North Cell Phone Lot, and then go to their arrival/baggage claim terminal when they call. We take the turnpike down to the 528 expressway, and then got off at exit 11 for the airport (Jeff Fuqua Blvd), which is about an hour drive.

If they step outside the actual airport building after getting luggage, make sure they give you Number where they are standing so that you can drive straight through and stop at the correct place. Numbers are all along the pavement overhead.

Default Most time easier to pick up arriving peeps at the very end of the DEPARTURE DROP OFF

Its always empty at the end of the departure drop lane, and especially if they have not big luggage and can go back up a flight of stairs. And go all the way to the end, to the right out the door.

Departure people always want to get off as soon as possible.

YMMV, but have done it several times. . never in high season holiday time though

regular travel, try it some time.

During the busy times (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc) it won’t matter where you are picked up. The line of traffic trying to get to departures/arrivals is the issue, and can result in a significant delay.

We've used North Cell and Terminal A. As others have mentioned, traffic is terrible at busy times no matter where you go.

I read somewhere that a change in Uber policy had those cars waiting in the South Cell and causing extra lines there. You might want to check on that before choosing the South Cell lot.

You might consider the North Cell lot (easy to get to, less concern with Uber traffic) even though you are picking up at Terminal B (on the south side). There will be a little more driving and looping to get there but it might possibly avoid some backups.

Go to Wawa on north Semoran blvd and wait. The south cell lot bypasses a lot of traffic getting to terminal on the B side

Enter from the south side. Short term garage, drive to the top, take elevator to bagage claim.

Fyi - Cell phone reception from the cell lots can be very poor.

Cell phone lot is fine. Usually we try to have our guests and ourselves fly into Tampa. It's around 10 mins longer to get to for me and that's probably around average for most people in TV.

Way easier airport to deal with in general and less congested. Even if the flight is a little bit more I would rather fly in/out of Tampa. Not to mention that almost every flight to Orlando has at least 3 screaming kids because they're overexcited for going to a week of theme parks.

North cell lot is closest to us…never had an issue & have used it for 7 years. 1hr 15 mins from the north section of TV. Has a rest room & cameras. Just make sure your pick up has their luggage BEFORE they call you that they’re ready to be picked up. Orlando is very tight for pick up & you can only stop for your passenger to jump in w/ their stuff & they’ll be moving you along.

Here's another one. If they are young and fit, have them go to A departures. I've seen epic backups on B and a ghost town on A. It's really not that much of a walk across to the A side.
