Currently in the process of buying a new home in Marsh Bend and can't wait to close. Since I grill a lot I sure would like to have a grill that runs off the natural gas supply but the house doesn't currently have a hook up for it. The meter is in the front left of the house and the area for the grill is in the back right. Has anyone ever done a gas line installation for a grill? If so, do you start with the gas company or just a general plumber?

Looked to have this done myself. Had a hard time getting an estimate. Opted to stick with using propane instead. BBQ frequently(1-2 times a week) and propane tanks lasts 6 months.

yes it can be done , have to run a plastic gas line 24 in underground from gas meter to grill, under all sidewalks and driveway. way cheaper to use propane.

Propane is easier to change when you need a new grill

When we converted house house up north to Nat Gas, I had them install extra nipples in case we wanted to run a line for that, which did a few years later. Best thing we ever did. Even gas flow and never had to worry about running out while cooking.

That sounds like an explosion waiting to happen when the rib eye hits the grill.

I had a birdcage added when I bought my house. I called a licensed plumber to extend my gas line before the concrete was poured. I then bought a natural gas weber grill. Years later I installed an outdoor kitchen to the lanai and was able to use the original Line installed for my new built in grill. It is so much easier, and no lugging a tank, and never run out of gas. I would always suggest doing this. Just makes life more simple, and as we age, who wants to carry that tank?

Fireplace installers Inc. ran my gas line, pulled permits and handled whole job. They are located in Wildwood. Love it! I bought a natural gas Weber from Ace hardware.

Huh? Is there an explosion when cooking on a natural gas cooktop in a kitchen?

Installed a gas line 2 years ago. Contact a licensed plumber and he will run the line. Just tell him where you want to put the grill. Be sure to buy the Nat Gas version of the grill you want as the gas office is different on each, A propane grill can not be used on nat gas and vice versa. Hope this helps.
