A side question here about the theater in Sumter. How's the wheelchair accessibility? Do you have to sit way down in the front row? Is there an elevator to accessible seats up top? Thanks!

Lake Sumter Seats needs to be replace if you are close to 6' there is no leg room. I don't go anymore and it's a shame the others are not open and Popcorn and Soda prices are high now.

Went to Oppenheimer yesterday. AMC Leesburg. 30$ for two reserved seats and large popcorn. Included in the 30 was 4$ in fees. Nice seats.

We go to AMC regularly to see a movie in comfy seats with some nice snacks, then go to Books A Million to browse. Enjoyable trip.

AMC is our choice. Get an A-List membership, and for about $24.50 per month on autopay you can go to up to three movies per week; brings the cost per movies way down if you love recliner seating and big screen movie experiences like we do. That cost covers 3-D and any other extras. If you go to movies several times a month, the greatly reduced ticket cost pays for your gas to get there. And you get free convenience fees, so you can reserve your seats up to days in advance; plus rewards, concession discounts and free tub-size popcorn refill ( take the refill home!), a bar is available, and go for a walk inside at the mall out of this heat!

Old Mill is fine but not much leg room. I don’t eat so nothing to say about the popcorn.

My biggest complaint about the Old Mill theater is that between the fairly dim projection and the green Exit signs right next to most screens, the screen image seems washed out. However, I find that the Lake Square theatre isn't hugely better in that regard. I've got an OLED TV with superb color, high dynamic range and super dark blacks and the average theater screen just doesn't compare any more for image quality (though of course is FAR better for size). If there's an intensely visual movie I want to see at it's best, I make the trek over to Altamonte Springs and catch it in the Dolby Vision theater at the AMC there. That's a LOT of driving to see a movie, so I combine it with a stop at Costco and pick up a couple of eight-corner, Detroit-style pizzas at Jets Pizza, so it works out.

Regal in Ocala & Mt.Dora are good spots too, not too bad in prices of tickets & concessions compared to AMC

If you want the Old Mill Theater in Lake Sumter to disappear the same way the theaters in Spanish and Brownwood did, and your secret wish is to see the town squares converted into low-rent apartments and ruin your property value, then the quickest way to achieve that would be to spend all your entertainment dollars in Ocala and Leesburg.

Personally, I love going to see movies that need a big screen at the Old Mill. The prices are reasonable, the theater is comfortable and uncrowded, and I don't need to bring earplugs to save what's left of my hearing. I can see a matinee, grab a bite at Lazy Macs, and walk across the street for free live music and a beer on the square. What's not to like?

"Low Rent Apartments"...

I guess the "Lofts of Brownwood" have really ruined property values in that area...

But yeah, since THAT theater is not really supported either, I'd not be surprised of it goes away, as well...
