Default Motorized screen for lanai

I have seen several motorized screen structures on "open" lanais that also have a birdcage over the pool. Essentially, the screens allow the lanai portion to be shaded from the point that the birdcage attaches. Wondered if anyone had such a solution and any suggestions on things to consider or even vendors to explore. Thanks in advance,

Cool Breeze, very nice produce and work.

Keeps the dirt and rain out also.

I think they are an advertiser here:

Motorized Screens are very expensive when you have a big span.

Other options would be a non motorized one that you can get at Lowe’s/H Depot.

We have had motorized sun shades in both of our homes in The Villages. In our first house, we used RK Sunshades. For our current home, they were installed by Shade Brothers. In my opinion, both companies are excellent. The quality of the product is very high, and both do a really good job with the installation, as well as any post-installation service. Yes...they are expensive. And yes...you can buy cheaper manually operated shades from the big box stores. It's all a matter of what you want, and the convenience you are looking for. The motorized shades glide effortlessly along a track system that keeps them nice and tight, and do not flap around in the wind. So yeah, you can save money if that is priority one. But, having the best does cost more.

We just contracted with Shade Brothers for motorized screens. We went with them as they had the highest wind rating of the companies I received estimates. Our neighbors had theirs down for the last hurricane with no problems even though they had a support beam on their birdcage break loose from the wind.

I currently have manual Coolaroo's from Lowe's and they work ok for shade but they don't handle wind very well. A little bit of a pain pulling the chain to raise and lower them but they are about 90% cheaper than the motorized screens. We are getting a pool so since they are attached to the lanai screen framing they will be coming down.

Default Motorized Screens

Our pool and lanai face West,so the afternoon sun can be quite intense. We installed Magna Track motorized blinds with a 97%block. You can still see out but they block the sun and also add privacy. They are rated at 75 mph wind velocity as well. Absolutely love them.

I had mine done by Shade Brothers and although expensive, it was worth every penny. Not only keeps out the sun and the wind but I can see out but the neighbours can't see in.

One option we've found helpful when away from the home is the ability to close the screens from your phone.

Default Shade Masters vs Shade Brothers

We used the new company - SHADE MASTERS. Be aware Shade Brothers IS NOT the same company with a long term owner that has been established here.
The owner retired and sold his company about 2 years ago to a new owner. It is important to note At that time the Manager, installer and several of the employees formed a NEW COMPANY - SHADE MASTERS providing the same product and services as the former Shade Brothers.

We love our motorized screens from Shade Brothers/Dress Up Your Windows. 3 across our lanai and 1 on the garage. The convenience and privacy are awesome. We have also done plantation shutters and motorized shades for our 2 sliding doors with them. Very happy, highly recommend.
They are located just off of 44 going towards Leesburg.

Default Motorized screen for Lanai

We purchased our screens from Shade Brothers bc we wanted to use the lanai year round and did not want to glass it it. We love the breeze and sun coming into the house.....that's why we're here in Florida....to enjoy the weather year round.

Yes, expensive if purchased from a good company. We have a Cottage style home w/a lanai of 20 ft long, 10 ft wide, cost about $12K & worth every penny! A Veranda model would run about $60K due to size of lanai.

When it rains, we drop the shades and have little rain on lanai...I enjoy using the lanai all year round!
