Default Mailing Address within The Villages

Newbie hopefully moving soon to TV. I see that lots of TV is within the city limits of adjacent cities. For mailing purposes if you are within the city limits of Wildwood, Lady Lake, or other cities, do you use that city as your mailing address, or The Villages when you receive mail?

What is your zip code? I believe zip codes have a recommended city attached to them. For example, the recommended city for 32162 is The Villages though Lady Lake is also acceptable.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.

Good ? and I bet there is not a real good answer. We live in the 32159 postal area and when most computers and the USPS see this they load in Lady Lake automatically and we do live in TV. Both Lady Lake and TV will work. I use Lady Lake. Less lettters to type.

The Villages… and if you are new make sure you check that zip code is correct every time you order something or giving out new address…this is an issue in the beginning of many new Villagers.. because someone goggles your address it will come up as a town.. like Lady Lake and a different zip code.

If you are coming to the area near Sawgrass Grove, we use TV, 32163 for mail, and we sometimes use Wildwood for GPS..

To my knowledge The Villages being so large is the only privately owned community that the U. S. Postal Service officially recognizes for your address. When I moved here I noticed that all my paperwork for my closing and warranty said The Villages, Florida 32163. I’m sure if I put Wildwood, Florida it would probably work. I was actually told from the postal person at my mailbox that putting The Villages makes it easier and quicker to deliver as the post office has a section just for The Villages for sorting by Zip code.

We live in The Villages in unincorporated Sumter Country, 32162. Our mail actually comes through the Lady Lake Post Office since The Villages doesn't have its own post office. And if the sender happens to use Lady Lake, 32162, we will still get it.
