Default Living near a sanitary lift station

Can anyone comment about living near a sanitary lift station in The Villages?
Are there major concerns?

Lift stations are usually not a problem. The sewage flowing through them are contained within the system.

The treatment area is the place where the sewage sees the light of day and subject to emitting odors.

Are they, treatment areas, a major concern? Personally, I think so. I am not sure of the range of the odor but there are a couple of golf courses where I find the odor offensive when downwind of the source.

When you say a sanitary lift station do you mean the small areas in TV where they have underground pump stations that they pump out on schedule? If so, we are 2 doors down and have found it the most convenient place to take our dogs to do their business (yes we pick it up). What I have noticed is last year it seemed like they came on schedule like clock work to empty them and we never, ever noticed any odor. This year it is more sporadic and quite often when we take the dogs now there is an odor. But this may have something to do with the tremendous amount of rain we have had. I don't know; however, if I found a house I loved that had one of these stations nearby it would not concern me in the least - especially if I had a dog 'cause it is a convenient location to take them without people complaining.

From the look of these project photos these treatment plants seem to be part of the golf course network...if the golfers haven't raised a flag about any impact to their noses..then they must be working well.

There is a Sanitary Lift Station near a pond area in Collier (unit 232). It is adjacent to the back of homes. I wanted to know if odor could be a problem to the nearby homes?

The first picture in the above link was taken maybe 7 years ago. Would be interesting to see an aerial pic now. They have been working there the last few years, probably doubled the size of it. Sort of looks like Deer Island huh?
