Exclamation Lanai Floor ?

We are wondering if we should apply apoxy or some other 'product' to our lanai floor after we build? if so, any recommendations out there? I know Lowes & home depot set apoxy type products you can put down on your garage floors and we were thinking of applying that to the lanai floor - but my husband was concerned that the lanai concrete would be too rough/bumpy to apply the apoxy (different type of finish than a garage floor). Would love some 'reasonable' ideas and thanks so much

We have Chattahoochee River Rock on our lanai and love it. No puddles when it rains, not slippery, and looks fantastic.

If you decide to do an epoxy project yourself, I would strongly recommend NOT purchasing the material from a big box store. The paint stores provide a superior product for sure, and can advise you on prep, application, etc. The paint companies create a cheaper line of paint for the big box stores, and that is reflected in the results.

I agree except the Rustolium products R very good, just need a wash with perhaps muriatic acid first.

Most of the paint store R now competitive $$ with the boxes like HD

The epoxy product for the garage will stick to the lanai better than the garage; however, it will fade quickly with the sun on it. Use the product designed for lanai surfaces.

Mine is stained with a tile pattern, very nice. Amy Newsome did that and the garage floor.

When we were in the build stage of our home, we had the "decking" applied when we designed our home. This is a type of epoxy that looks like the knockdown finish on ceilings. Very durable, and we are happy with it. Adds color and a smoother finish to bare concrete. Easy to clean.

Amy did our birdcage floor two years ago. We like her work. I recall Amy saying the floor needs a protective covering, but I don't remember the timing or product to use.

Default Think about Pavers

We used pavers to cover our bird cage and Lanai floors. There are several styles and colors available. The finished floor looks very attractive. The pavers were the 1.187" thick pavers.

Here is a website that has a lot of pictures. River Rock Flooring For Concrete Basement Floors & More - McKinnon Materials We had Mike from Midstate Stone install ours. Did a great job in about 2-3 hours. Call him and he'll come over for a free estimate with samples.

I like the looks of the river rock .
How do you clean it? Can you power wash it?
I'm guessing it requires very little if any maintenance .
