Default Lanai Extension

We are just in the planning stages regarding extending our lanai. Does anyone know how far from the property line is permissible? Thanks

Look at the restrictive covenants you signed.......it's listed there.

Mine was 7.5 feet from the back.

I don't know if the setbacks are the same for all villages or even the same for different lots in the same village. But our lot is 7.5 feet from the back property line and 5 feet on each side.

Ours was a lot further, OP, go to or call the Sumter county building department and ask for either your house plans (around 16 pages) or your plat plan (1 sheet). As noted above the plat plan will have the setbacks, and you will need this for ARC review anyway. Make sure you pay attention to any utility corridors, the drainage areas between the houses.
Good luck with your project.

I told the design center that I wanted the largest lanai that would fit on my lot. They have to do some drawings to figure out what I could get. It really depends on your lot and your home and a few other things.
