Default Lanai Ceiling

I was wondering. Has anyone had a wood ceiling installed on their lanai. We are enclosing our lanai with sliding glass doors and wondering if anyone has done this and who did you use for installation. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest Custom Windows and Doors for a quote on the sliding glass doors. But, why would you want a wood ceiling in the lanai? Doesn't the lanai already have a drywall ceiling? If you are going to heat and cool the lanai, you need to install insulation above the lanai ceiling. This can be blown in from the attic space.

We are in process of covering lanai ceiling with vinyl soffit beadboard to cover ceiling cracks and to get a different look. Open lanai. You can google ceilings under outdoor deck. I know I can patch the cracks cheaper but wanted a different look.

It would be great to learn more - I have been looking to do something similar but didn't know the vinyl product was available. Is it individual "planks" or is it more like a 4 x 8 sheet of bead board look? Yes, was it a DIY or did you hire someone to do it for you? If someone else, can you give us their contact info? Thanks

Default drywall guy or painter to fix?

I have the same problem with cracks in the lanai ceiling. If I was to go the "fix" route,
should I call a drywall guy or a painter? It will need screws, tape and mud, as it is dropping down a little at the seam.

The seam cracking in lanai's is caused from movement. It happens in the garage too. All the screws and drywall compound in the world won't stop it. My in laws lanai has vinyl and I think it looks lots better than my cracked ceiling lanai plus you can pressure wash it.
