Does anyone use Talstar insecticides for their lawn and garden?

Looking at Talstar XTRA, Talstar PL or Talstar Nursery.

Pretty much the same thing.

Talstar is just a commercial name for the active ingredient bifithrin, use any generic with this active ingredient and save money. The same goes with roundup/glysaphate is the actual active ingredient.

Bifenthrin 7.9%. Buy from Amazon or DoMYOwn.com depending on price. Spray every 2-3 months. If using a spreader, you can buy granular as well.

Default Thanks!

This is interesting.
I'm a DIY guy and spread my own weed and feed, and spray for bugs around the house, but I have not used insecticides on the St Augustine grass yet. What pests are controlled with these products? How often should we treat for them?
thanks for the advice

Go to the local "Site One" store and purchase the product "CROSSCHECK." It's the same stuff in a granular form and I use that in the yard. Broadcast around the yard and becomes a barrier for bugs. Keeps flees and ticks out for the protection of pets too.

I've used Crosscheck for years in South Carolina and here in Florida. I use the liquid form to spray the foundation , shrubs, and yard every couple of months. I avoid pollinating flowers and plants.

Bifenthrin 7.9% also kills bees , butterflies etc.
Best to use granules.
Do not spray on nectar/flowering plants, and spray at night when many of the good bugs are all in bed.

Millipedes come out of the grass because they will drown in a heavy rain. I fought them for two years until I found Permethrin SFR in a business called Site One in Leesberg. I took their advice and mixed permethrin with Stryker insecticide to act as a booster and haven't seen a millipede since. Both of these insecticides are expensive but they absolutely work. I used to have hundreds of them on my lanai and in my pool. Now, life is good.

I Use Talstar P on my flower beds, 3' up the side of the house, around doors/windows, behind appliances and the back of some cupboards and have not had any insect issues in over 2 years. I also apply Spectricide granules to our lawn and spot spray ant hills and wasp nests with Talstar P on the rare occasion that they appear. I use 1 oz (or less) of Talstar P per gallon of water in a sprayer and follow the instructions shown in the videos on the Talstar website:

Thank you. I'll be going to Site One in Leesburg today to buy some.
