Wait till you see Kids riding on the back of a golf cart strapped in where golf clubs go. Young kids riding on the back 4 seater with no belts used, and two sitting on the floor with their feet dangling between the bar.

Then again small dogs have fallen out of a cart while turning, so hopefully they don’t have grandkids. But the best is

Kids under age of 14 driving cart alone, or grandparents who put a toddler in their Lap to steer the cart on a road next to cars. Guess some grandparents must have the attitude that grandchild, are like pancakes, the first one can be a throw away because it turns out a little wonky.
plus oversized adults x3 or more in a cart built for 2 . .. naturally insane I suppose .

Just proves that brains are not a requirement to live in The Villages.

I saw a child and mother in a cart with the seat belt around both! If the cart had to stop fast, the mother would go forward, but not the child.

This is insane and CPS or law enforcement should be called if you know who is doing this.

Maybe laws have never been written for golfcarts, bikes, ATV's ?
What about boats ? Are their laws about what you must do when you take your baby on your boat ? Bottom line, MANY dangerous practices, never be able to legislate all possible factors. We USED to rely on INTELLECT, an inner voice that "told" us how to keep our children as "safe as possible". Was it Forrest Gump who said "you can't cure stupid". Have you ever seen a toddler STANDING on the "baby seat" of a shopping cart ? Yet, there IS A SEAT BELT ON THOSE SHOPPING CARTS !
"Stupid is as stupid does."

" I might not be a SMART man, but I KNOW what LOVE is." -

Thinking he and Jenny probably would hold a baby on their lap in a golf cart though...

Unfortunately, it is an innocent child who all too often pays the price when adults do stupid things.

I've seen that too! Hopefully it was the same person in either case. Hard to imagine TWO people that industrial-strength stupid even in a community as large as The Villages.

But you do see some things related to golf carts around here that absolutely beggar the imagination. Just a few (besides the one above) that I've seen in the past couple of years:

- A cart driven by a tiny little women with THREE dogs, two quite big, all in front with her. I couldn't even see the woman at first--looked for all the world like the biggest dog was driving. With that huge dog on her lap it must have been hard for her to see.

- A cart with two older people in front. Riding in the back was a young woman on the seat facing backwards with a child, maybe three years old, on her lap. No belts.

- Innumerable times that the driver of the cart was texting.

- Carts in car roundabouts.

- Numerous carts tooling down streets that are posted as "no carts allowed" (sometimes apparently wondering why people are honking at them).

- Guy in a cart chucking an empty booze bottle into the bushes after leaving one of the country clubs. Must be lots of those around considering the number I see lying on and just off the path on my walks.

- SUV wedged in a golf cart tunnel (beyond industrial strength stupid...)

- Guy and woman in a cart. Guy was driving. Woman was hanging on inside by one hand while trying to scrape something off the windshield with the other.

- Guy driving his cart on an MMP while his dog, on a leash, ran beside him in the oncoming-traffic lane.

- And (best for last) a cart going maybe 5 MPH, if that, along a heavily-traveled MMP, with one of those white canes that sight-impaired people use strapped to the back of the cart.

When I was two feet tall, I would stand on the front seat armrest to get a good look out of the window while my mother blew smoke in my face the whole time.
Great times!

It's easier to blame "other people"...

I don't really notice details of other drivers in their carts. I see the carts & people, but I don't look for violations. While mostly keeping my eyes on the path I take occasional glances around at the beautiful scenery.

It's against the law to not have an infant in a baby seat in a car how can it be legal to have an infant on your lap while you driving in an open golf cart?

Insane!
Must be a new record, it only took until the 3rd reply before the blame was put on the snowbirds. I'll bet they were renters as well.
