Default How to get rid of extra dirt.

I planted some shrubs and have about 100 lbs of extra dirt. Does anyone have any idea about how to dispose of this? I could put it out in a bunch of yard waste bags but I am hoping that there is an easier way.

Depending on the quality of the dirt and size and thickness of your lawn, you could use it by spreading handfuls over the lawn. Just had my lawn aerated and it looks like somebody spread dirt on my lawn. 100 pounds can't be that much. Dirt around shrubs may be better quality than the normal lawn dirt.

I would and have used extra dirt on my lawn, just take hand fulls at a time and throw into lower areas. If we ever get rain, it will drive the dirt right down. I have done this several times with multiple 5 gallon pails of dirt.

If you offer it in the classified on here, just "FREE DIRT, bring own container" it will be gone by the next day and you don't have to dig or fill or lift anything. Just let all those trying to fill huge outdoor pots, or above ground flower containers have at it !

Don’t you have any low spots around your house or yard.

I’d be delighted to have free dirt - can pick it up April 6 when I get back home to TV.

The Villages has a place to dump yard waste for contractors and villagers. Free for villagers. It's behind Moyer Rec Center. We've used it a couple times for dirt. There is a road along side of the rec center to get back there.

If you're talking about the landfill, it cost me a couple hundred dollars to use it last year. Came out with two roofing nails in one of my tires.
