We are renting and Amazon delivered a package to the mail station. We do not have post office box key. Is there a contact number for postal services

Find out the approximate delivery time to your mail station ask a neighbor.
Mail delivery is contracted service for USPS. PRESENT IDENTIFICATION AT REAR ENTRY.

Amazon does not deliver packages to the mail station. I think what you mean is that Amazon transferred the package to the USPS instead of completing the delivery themselves to your physical address. If you cannot accept mail at the postal station address, then you need to provide Amazon with an address where you can accept packages. If you are a long term renter, you should be able to get a mailing address with a key to receive USPS mail. The mail boxes are owned by the USPS, not the landlord.

Excellent Point that lots of landlords can't understand!
The USPS, not the landlord, owns the mailboxes.

There’s a person at the mail station - it’s different at each place, but it’s marked.

Bring your lease - explain the situation.

Amazon does deliver directly to the home, but they do transfer some stuff to USPS for the last mile. Much less stuff recently, since Amazon built out their own local delivery service, but it happens.

US Postal Service has a contact with Amazon to deliver many of their packages. Amazon drops off truck loads of their packages at local post offices scan them as “delivered” and then they are bought out later by the USPS contractors and put in boxes at our mail stations. Amazon employees have no excess to our mail stations. You can try and wait for mail contractor at your mail stations to get package.

If you are renting a house in The Villages and have a package sitting at the mail station, can you ask the owner for a key to get to it? I’ve rented many times and had Amazon packages delivered right to the front door. Only once was a package delivered to the mail area, and the owner had left a key in that house. Hope you get the package soon!

Contact your landlord. If they're local, thet can pick it up. Also, if you go to your neighborhood station, the people who sort out the mail are only there for a few hours, so not 8hrs.

If a package tracking number begins with "TBA", then it is being delivered by Amazon and it will be delivered directly to your house. They cannot deliver it to the postal station because they have not paid the postage fee.

If the tracking number begins with "9" that means that Amazon has transferred the package to USPS and paid the postage fee. The package will be delivered by USPS, and they will either place it into the postal station box, or deliver it directly to your house, but it is their option.

When you order an item from Amazon, sometimes you have an option to pick up the package at one of the local Amazon locker locations, instead of having it delivered to your address. Using that option will prevent the package from being placed in a locked postal station box.

Why not just use an Amazon delivery station. We have used one in the save-a-lot in Leesburg. I know it not in the bubble but there some pretty good restaurants and other shopping out side the bubble.

As a snowbird renter, I simply alert my homeowner if an Amazon package got switched for "last mile" to USPS. Otherwise it gets delivered direct to house under my name.

As others have said, best option is to find an Amazon locker nearby your rental house (when you place your order)

The mailbox that comes with your rental will contain a key for the footlocker. If the pkg is too big they will leave it at the house

The poster did not say that an Amazon truck dropped the package off at the mail station. If their delivery notification says it was delivered to their mailbox, then obviously it was done so by USPS. They are asking how they can get it with no key.

I think the OP is saying that the landlord didn't give them the mailbox key, so they cannot get the footlocker key which may be in the mailbox.
