Default Home, depot, or Lowe’s via golf cart?

I am needing to go to either Home Depot or Lowe’s via golf cart and live around Lake Sumter area and a long golf cart ride is no problem. Is there way to get to one of these irregardless of the location in the villages via golf cart?

Lowes on 441 - over to the historic side and bring you gate card to get through gate. Not hard once you get used to it. North of Spanish Springs. Easier to ask directions than to tell you directions. Just ask someone where to find gate. Home Depot not accessible by cart. I live in Bonnybrook. about 35 minute cart ride.

Just FYI, the Lowes at Trailwind (and eventually the Home Depot) are not accessible by normal golf cart (street legal ok?). I see people do it quite often, however, at Pinellas and 466a. There is a sign a ways back from the traffic light that says "no golf carts beyond this point."

To get to Lowes on the cart from your house, go into Spanish Springs and then over the cart bridge to the Historic Section. The bridge ends onto Paradise Dr. Take Paradise Dr. north, past the Paradise Rec Center, and continue on Paradise Dr through the Boone Ct intersection. After passing 5 houses on your left, you will see a pathway between the houses. Take that pathway through the gate and then follow the street going past the BJ's store. You will see Lowes just north of BJ's. And remember to take your gate pass, because you will need it to get back into the Paradise Dr. pathway.

Don’t both of them deliver

We have only been to Home Depot once in our golf cart, and it entailed parking at the top of the shopping area by Rolling Acres (top of the hill past Target) and walking across Rolling Acres and 441. The first is fine (for Best Buy etc.) but 441 is very busy and has deep drainage ditches, so crossing back with two bags of mulch is not recommended!

We also went "over the bridge" and right as far as the gas station but the walk from there was also long and arduous so we turned round halfway.

Lowes "through the gate" is a much better option, and if we really need something from Home Depot we have it delivered.

Default made it!

special thank you to everyone that helped me with the directions ,, I made it to Lowe’s. Got what I went after. Most exciting part of the trip was being able to go to Wawa and as usual the police were they were arresting someone. There are times I would just like to sit in the golf cart and watch the show. at times it can be like an episode of cops.

Yes, but according to the Wildwood Police Department......it's okay for any golf cart to cross at the intersection because of the light.

I am shocked & surprised at this WPD statement.

The sign ("no golf carts beyond this point.") was erected by The Villages......a private entity.
Private signs do not determine law.............they are opinions/suggestions.

What gives you that idea? Is there some small print on the sign that I've missed? It would be good to know who planted the speed limit signs so I could possibly ignore them as well.

I suspect it does matter who is wearing the gloves that plants the signs or who is signing the paycheck for that individual. If the law does not allow crossing 466A and there is a legal sign stating such then the argument that "I heard on the internet that it was ok" isn't going to carry much weight.

FWIW: I heard a Sumter County Sheriff deputy (not sure what rank), state unequivocally that crossing 466A at Trailwinds was NOT legal. (of course, he also would have said that traveling down Morse at a speed greater than 35mph is not legal and we know how many obey that)

I remember the other thread that quoted a deputy.......that's why I added the popcorn.

My information was from the WPD traffic unit.

More popcorn please.

That’s the ticket, picked up eight rectangles of sod from there in the golf cart this morning.

The Wildwood Police said it's fine with a normal cart as long as you only cross at the light at Pinellas/Penrose. I've seen lots of carts in Trailwinds.
