I need some straight talk about tv and internet in the Villages. We close on a new house tomorrow. We need high speed internet and HD tv. In our rental here we get xfinity 75mbs and crappy tv with no HD. I dont know what the monthy final bill is but I'm curious.
My wife and I are looking for 75mbs and maybe like a basic plus HD channel package. We like channels like the golf channel, hgtv, tnt, history channel, food network, etc. We want them in HD but in California that was always "extra". The internet sites don't seem helpful so I figured I'd ask my Villager friends what they pay monthly if they have a package like I want. |

I was just going to recommend you talk to Tom. We have that Comcast package through him and are completely satisfied!

If you are below 466A you have multiple choices......above 466A not so much so location will be a factor.

Hard to beat DirecTV for sports and programming.
We have no home phone so we bundled CenturyLink Fiber Optic WiFi with DirecTV. It saves us a whopping $5.00 a month! Woo Hoo! Our bill is $105/mo. but of course that reflects our programming choices. We have no complaints. (we are south of 466A, so more options than north of 466A) |

I have been with Comcast for some time now and have been very satisified with product and service. Price is always a problem with anything we buy. I mean who likes to pay for insurance premiums. so too with cable/internet/phone but Comcast delivers well for me and addresses my needs quickly. Given government interference, fierce competitors, company's internal goals and its accelerated growth Comcast is doing well. |

Do whatever Villages Audio recommends. They will save you a lot of time and energy. That's why they are busy.

I used Tom to get the Comcast 19.99 a month deal, then later had him install an antenna in the attic. I have a variety of Internet devices for additional TV options. Apple TV, Roku 3, and apps on smart TVs. Plenty to keep you busy. If you have an additional home with cable service you will likely be able to leverage that remotely too. Remember you only need around 5MB download speed to stream most items. So the 25MB is plenty. As Tom mentioned it is really 30MB plus. For reference I am able to use my work laptop via VPN connection, and stream TV with no issues.

I had an incorrect bill after a service change with CenturyLink but it was corrected with a phone call, not a big deal.

Still being a somewhat new full time frog, I have not taken the time to call Comcast to get a better deal. It is getting close to the top. Our friends who left Century Link for Comcast has the triple play package with the X-1 operating system for less than we are paying for our basic service.

Can we get a similar deal even though we are existing Comcast customers?
