Default Good shoe store for athletic shoes?

Hi, we will at our place up there for a week (yay!) next week, and wondered if anyone could recommend a good place to buy athletic/court shoes for my wife? Looked online and did not see that many shoe stores in the immediate area. Thanks in advance Tim

OK, athletic shoe I assume you mean tennis or pickleball court shoe? Glenview Country club tennis has good selection of tennis/pickleball court shoes. If she playing on hard courts only the you have lots of choices at department stores in the area. If she plans on playing on clay then I would recommend court shoes for clay due they will not slip as bad on clay courts. Any court shoe will work on pickleball or tennis hard courts. How I don't recommend some cross trainer's, walking, or running shoes for hard courts. higher chance of twisting ankle plus the mark up the hard courts. hope this helps.

If you'd like to pay a lot less than country club prices, try any Dick's or Academy. There aren't any here, but you'll probably pass one or both on the way.

I got my pickleball shoes at Bealls. They don't have a lot of choices. Mine are New Balance and I think they let you use the coupons for those.

There's a Dick's in Ocala, jump on I-75 at Wildwood and drive 26 miles north to Exit Route 200 and go west 1 mile. I've been there many times and it's a good size store.

As someone already posted, I went to Bealls. I got a Nike pair for $55 and they had about 3 or 4 choices, about $10-$15 cheaper than Glenview. You don't want your regular athletic shoe on a pickleball court, they will grab and you'll twist your ankle. Something smooth on the bottom that will allow you to slide.

Found my Addidas golf shoes on the markdown rack at Bealls and then used a coupon. I had no idea that they even had athletic shoes before that.
