I guess some of the newer NEV's are slightly bigger than a golf cart and can get up to 25-35 mph and thus street legal.

Just a quick survey for input, knowing what you do now. Is the ambiance of a golf cart at 20mph along the paths still the way you'd go, or would you prefer something peppier (but smaller than a regular car) in the streets?

I'd vote for faster as long as it was still golf course legal as well as street legal.

I think those who drive their carts (street legal or not) on the streets are asking for trouble. I've seen a few accidents in the roundabouts or the glass, etc. of accidents that have involved golf carts/cars. The cart loses every time.

Even 25-35 really isn't fast enough. In reality, most driving down Buena Vista are going about 40. 466 is faster. Morse depends on how much traffic there is. I've seen cars try to pass the street carts, have to slam on their brakes to get back into their lane. One of the accidents I saw was on Morse where the car tried to pass and clipped the cart moving over. The cart ended up on its side and an ambulance had to be called. The car had a small ding on the fender.

So, while you might be street legal, you're not safe. If anything, I'd say you're even less safe. Is it worth saving 5 minutes or less to risk so much?

Well, I'll try to clarify,

a NEV is likely bigger, but maybe smaller than a VW,
thus can't use the golf cart paths if it's street legal.

I wouldn't drive a peppy golf cart down Buena Vista (or if I did, it'd be once cuz I'd be dead LOLOL),

so, a larger than a golf cart thing, smaller than a Honda Civic (think smart car size), but it's electric

for example, there's a vehicle called a Tomberlin Anvil, looks like a SUV golfcart, $8000
but 6 feet wide, about 8-1/2 feet long, so smaller than most cars, bigger than a golf cart

Looked up you Tomberlin Anvil. Cute. Kind of golf carty looking, except for the tires.

A little too slow for some of the roads in TV I think, but I liked it.

Peggy, says it goes 25-35, I don't know what the variable is other than a hill and there aren't many in TV, so I was expecting about 30mph. There's a florida dealer.

Personally I'd stick to a convention golf cart at up to 20 mph. If I wanted something faster, I'd use the car; the Prius is as much fun to drive as the golf cart!

A couple issues with the NEV, other than the fact that everyone thinks it means Nevada ~~ They are quasi automobiles and must be licensed and insured as such. However, they are not allowed on streets with speed limit above 35 mph. You cannot drive in on 466, though you can cross such a street. (Yeah, I know, someone is going to say they've seen street legals on 466 or even 27/441, but it's still illegal.)

However, if I lived in Bridgeport at Miona Shores I'd have one simply to avoid having to drive a golf cart all the way thru BonnyBrook to get to LSL or Palmer. But since I don't, I'll stick with a regular golf cart. In lieu of a NEV, I'll take a Yesteryear or StreetRod cart for the trails and a BMW Z or a Mercedes SL for the road. Pending the lottery announcement however, I'll stick with my 3 year old Yamaha cart and 4 year old car.
